Hey Everyone,

Had my fun land working perfect. Then when I had people over a few problems cropt up. I'm getting ready to dig into this weekend and wondered if anyone may have some insights or tips on a couple of problems I have been having.

1. Start up - Sometimes when pressing the start button it does the following. Score real resets fine, then it makes a start up sound 4 to 5 times sometimes more before the ball finally kicks out.

2. Spinners - The spinners work and score fine. They are supposed to cycle through 5, 50, and 500. They do not do this they are stuck on 50. Not even sure I want to fix this as the way it is now makes the game more fair. But I am curious how to fix this.

Thanks Pinsiders,

Dan

By "start up sound" do you mean 2 alternating thumps or bangs?

This is controlled by the Spin Score Control relay (Y) mini stepper in the head. It could be a mechanical problem in the Y relay or an electrical problem if the signal to advance isn't getting to the Y relay.

Im going to take a video tonight and post it. I think it is that large reset bar in the back that bangs repeating until it finally clicks over and ejects the ball, but I am not sure.

Ill send him an email. Im going to check for a loose wire. This problem started when I was adjusting one of the pop bumper switches. Maybe I knocked a wire loose while I was doing that.

Dan: I had pretty much the same problem with my Funland. Thanks to HowardR helping and teaching me I might be able to help you with your problem. Please feel free to write back and I will see what I can do. Mike

Thanks - another Fun Land owner. That was my first machine. I learned how to work on my pinball machines with that one. So how did you solve the spinners not rotating through the awards?

HowardR Here is a video

I hear both the Sequence Bank (probably hangs down from the back of the playfield), and the Control Bank (probably on the bottom board) resetting in your video
Most likely the Start relay (S) is staying locked on when this happens. A motor 2B switch has the job of releasing the Start relay.
There was originally a card stapled to the inside of the cabinet near the motor that will tell where that switch is on the motor, but I don't have a picture of it.

HowardR Did the trick - cleaned that motor 2b switch and its starting up great.

Mikeymoo1957 - what was the adjustment you made to get the spinners to spin through the numbers?

The 5/50/500 lights are controlled by the Spin Score Control relay (Y) AS type mini stepper, which gets its advance signal from the spinners.
