Hello All,

The red/white targets do not reset as they are meant to. When both target are made, the two stepper units - red/white are meant to reset to the start/zero position. What happens is the score motor turns until either the red or white reset fully but this will leave the opposite side that has not fully reset to where ever is. Lifting the playfield while the scoremotor is turning, you can see the reset relay (J), is being pulsed, the two reset coils on the steppers are also being pulsed but the bar and linkage on both doesn't move much.
If load some advance on both steppers and then press the J relay armiture with my finger both sides make a better atempt at resetting but the red side more slugish. l've mislaid the schmatic so l've got nothing to look at, any ideas?, thanks in advance.

Keep the schematic in a large manilla envelope inside the game. Hope this helps.

If both sides reset correctly during startup, check this switch on the Left & Right Target Scoring Reset (J) relay.

For a switch to work 3 things are necessary:
1) When open, there should be a small space between the contact points (duh)
2) When closing, the long blade's contact point should push the short blade's contact point enough to move the short blade
3) The contact points should be clean, which they usually will be if #2 is happening

Sometimes at start up both side will reset to the zero position but only if the advance is low, (under 6 on both sides). Both steppers, step cleanly on counting up and if l depress the reset coil linkage with my finger it zips back to the zero position without stopping. l've checked the 'j' relay switches clean and push the smaller bladed switch backwards when activated. l've also looked at the switches at 2C but not the switch at 'S'.
The problem seems slightly different at different time during a game. Sometime there is no attempt to reset until the ball leaves the playfield.
Anymore thoughts?, thanks in advance.

2C switch way to wide, cleaned and re-gapped has made all the differences, targets reset straight after the second target is made, thanks howard.
