    Flipper bat could be down too tight against the bushing that goes through the playfield. Should be a little maybe 1/8 inch up and down play, or it will bind against the bushing. I've had this happen to me. Loosen the flipper lock screw and pull up on the bat to add a little up / down play if there is none.
