Hey all,

I wasn't sure which sub section to post this in so i chose here. Mods please move if you prefer.

Anyhow, i recently picked up this gottlieb five star final for a friend. I haven't found a ton online about it, however i read there are many variations of the game made (original, junior, Canada etc). This one has a stand made of wood, which according to ipdb was an option.

Honestly, I'm skeptical its original simply because of the condition of the thing. Its pristene all around.

Anyhow just thought i would share this cool piece and see if any of you pinball history buffs can help identify the exact model. Ill take some more pics all around if anyone is interested.

Cheers
Greg

I can’t answer your question, but boy, that’s purty!

Looks all original! Five Star Finals Generally faired much better than others of the day.

I dont if it was because of the Volume, or that within 1-2 years, most all games that were countertop,
went full size on legs, or simply the boom time....

Super version you have with the legs, which were add on, both independent, and from factory, to my knowledge.

Looks great! My plan is to get a ol flipperless one day and was looking at that title. Tried to contact the seller but no dice. Enjoy!

Thanks all, It's a really unique piece. It's been getting a lot of attention from everyone who visits the shop. There is no key for it, so I'm thinking of calling a locksmith so I can at least open it up and see what's inside.

It is called 5 star final because Gottlieb thought it was the last pinball style table they would make.

Quoted from Astill:

It is called 5 star final because Gottlieb thought it was the last pinball style table they would make.

I always thought it was named after the 1931 Edward G. Robinson movie of the same name.
