Duotron
Gottlieb, 1974My Duotron started acting strange the other day. The machine is set to 3 balls, which under normal circumstances works fine. All of a sudden the ball count went to 5 and beyond. It basically keeps spitting out the ball to the shooter lane, even after ball 5. I took a peek in the cabinet and noticed that the last ball relay doesn't energize. What should I be looking for? There must be an area that needs more attention than others. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Do you have experience with EM's? I don't know much about Gottliebs, but you should have a ball count stepper unit that keeps track of your ball number. I think that should feed the last ball relay. Are you sure the 3/5 ball number peg is still in place? If that was missing I might expect to see this problem.
clean/lube the ball count stepper unit... don't forget the rivets/shoes on the "bottom part" too...
pinwiki description of ball count unit... note, if there are only 5 rivets on the top of the disk (unlike the 6 in the pinwiki description below) there is no 6th ball switch...
