Help needed i have recently bought a gottlieb duotron and a flying carpet. one was a playfield only the other was semi complete machine but turned out to be a nightmare. Had been in the same familty since new but had been stored in garage for the last 20 years ugh. So my project was to remove the em stuff as most was rusted our welded solid and replace with an arduino solution which i have sucessfully done with bally bingo machines. Made own cabinet so i can have any one of 4 machines installed limited space. Flying carpet finished and works made new backglass translite. Presently displays the backglass on an lcd tv. Bought a complete shooter from a gottlieb machine but the rod seems to be to short its 7 1/4 inches long from tip to back of nob. What is the correct length please help as i have to push the ball by hand not really practical. some pictures attached of flying carpet.

7 1/4" is very short. PBR has a variety: http://www.pbresource.com/shooterrod.html#B-6178

My Gottlieb and Williams shooter rods vary from 7 3/4 up to 8 3/4 from tip to back of nob.
