Hi all,

We have a really nice Gottlieb Sky Jump that has a slight problem.

The drop targets have a sporadic problem of not resetting when knocked down. This never occurs when the game starts. We tried jumpering across a few of the circuits and it still occurred. We also made sure it wasn’t being mechanically limited somehow, and it appears to be free to reset.

At this point, we’re baffled, so looking for suggestions from the EM community?

Thanks for your replies!

It would suggest a slightly dirty contact in the "in game" path...

One other thing you can try... adjust the amount of throw the reset coil has, ie loosen the 4 mounting screws and slightly increase the range of the reset arm. Use a sharpie on the screw areas to mark the original position should you mess it up.

Check that the "E" relay ( 5000 point and reset target bank relay) is activating, there is a make/break switch on the "E" relay which completes the circuit to the target bank reset coils during a game.

Thanks for the reply! We did these exact steps and still have the random non-reset.

Thanks for the reply—we checked this relay also and it is not the problem ☹️

If the drop targets don't reset during game play, Inspect and diagnose this circuit with Alligator clip jumper wires

Be careful because this circuit runs on 120 volts

Since it’s a sporadic problem, I would take a closer look at each target switch that closes when the target drops. You might have one barely making. Make sure each set of contacts “wipe” on target drop.

Check the target bank sequence switch, also check motor switch 1C, motor switch 2B, the N/C switch on the reset completed relay "A", and the N/C switch on the start relay "S".

This wouldn't have anything to do with the reset of the target bank.
There is a single switch on the target bank which closes when all the targets are down. This initiates the reset of the bank during gameplay, but not at startup. Clean and adjust this switch. It's likely the cause of your problem.

There are two things that should look at.
1st-The fuse for the reset bank take it out then ckeck it with a dmm.
2nd-The series bar they do often break.

The fuse is not the problem if the target bank resets at the start of the game.
