Been slowly renewing certain electronic components in my Black Hole machine. Was wondering what the functionality is of the diode strips that I see throughout the game? Also thought about replacing all those old diodes with new, but i haven't a clue what value they are. Seems that the value is not readable on my schematic, anyone know what value, are they all the same values.?

1N270s.
Part of your switch matrix... if they work, don't mess with them.

not worth replacing with new,? i worry the old ones would soon cause trouble being so old

Definitely not worth replacing.
First rule of pinball....don't mess with what is not broken.
Those diodes are used for switch matrix isolation. Seldom do they fail and if they do, it's nothing catastrophic.

ok thanks Chris, i will leave them be then. Your right, don't fix what isn't broke. Perhaps you could offer advice on how to resolve the other problem i have with the sound board https://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/black-hole-noise-in-soundspeaker-when-idle#post-3902221
