make sure the match board and wiper are clean and grunge free. you can lighten the contact pressure a little on the wire form but easy to mess up and make it too light. The base where the sled rides needs to be clean and dry... I put a drop of superlube on the reel where the wire form rides the "ski jump" ramp, ie 9's position.

And lastly as a hack you tighten the reel return spring a little. (go ahead and flame)

But a truly cleaned reel shouldnt need all this. Ive found the spindle gunked up in the past and had to clean that.
