Recently got my Crescendo up and running by cleaning every switch on it. The game plays well, everything works except for the ball in play lights, and the fact that the game will not play 5 balls even with the jones plug plugged in the 5 ball side. Even with the plug disconnected it will still play a 3 ball game. I have the schematics, but they are pretty much useless because I don't understand how to use them to problem solve. Any ideas?

If the #1 Ball Count bulb never lights, check the bulb, then Inspect and diagnose this circuit with Alligator clip jumper wires

So, my problems are many. The ball count lights didn't work, but my major concern was that the machine would not play 5 balls even with the plug in the 5 ball spot. It would play three balls in the 5 ball position and only one ball in the 3 ball position, and with the plug disconnected it would play three balls. So just as an exercise to figure out why the ball count lights were not working, I traced the wire for the ball 1 light(keep in mind this is the ball 1 light that should work for 5 ball, the ball 1 light for three ball is two lamp sockets to the right), it goes to the female of the 3 to 5 ball adjust and then doubles back to the ball 2 relay. I'm assuming that the switch on the schematic that is shown between the BL-Red and SL-Wh is the one that is on the relay. I cleaned that switch and the light comes on now, but stays on throughout all three balls played, keeping in mind that this is the wrong ball 1 light. It does go off after three balls have been played and the game over light comes on.

When a game is started the 1st ball in play relay trips, but after the ball drains the 2b relay does not trip, nor do the 3rd ball relay, etc.

Sorry but that was a mistake. This forum is full of posts from people who tried shotgun cleaning & adjustments, and caused more problems than they were originally trying to solve.
What to do instead: Slowly and carefully diagnose one problem at a time and then fix only that.

So frustrating. There is a blue and black wire on the disc on the player unit. I assume that I am supposed to jump that wire to...what? There are 2 yellow and black wires on the motor unit, they are on 2 different switches. Do I connect to both at the same time with the game on the second ball?

Did you read the links I posted?

I think I get it. I took a jumper wire from the red-white wire and touched the blue black on the 2ball relay. The relay tripped. I then took the jumper wire and touched it to the blue black on the player unit. The relay tripped. What now?
