Hello all I can really use some help. I picked up a close encounters pin with no boards in it. After some research I decided to go with the all in one flipp mpu. Once I put it in set it to the correct game I fired the game up. It does it’s thing but some things don’t reset like spin wheel and drop targets. When I press up a game it makes three tones nothing works and on the bottom display where it shows ball in play. It shows nE. Any one know what this could be. I can’t seem to find his email on the mpu site. So any help would be appreciated. Thanks you in advance.

The switches are probably dirty or mal-adjusted. The flippp board is the savior of system 1 machines but the other parts have to work too. My guess is a switch is stuck closed or never closes and the error was telling you what switch it was

I’ll have to figure out what nE is.

Is the language set to French? Looking at the video on facebook and the french manual I can see on page 22 at the bottom of the page "Tester + nom de la bobine + IMPOSSIBLE d'ACTIVER" which translates to "Test + coil name + CANNOT DRIVE" So coil 8 cannot be driven and the game refuses to start without it. This doesn't answer what the nE is but it could be related.

According to the manual Coil 8 is the Drop Target Bank Reset.

The manual is here: https://www.flippp.fr/media/manual/manual_PI-1X4_en.pdf if you don't already have it. The language menu is on page 40

Wow I thought it was set to English lol. I need to change that. And the drop targets don’t set. So that makes sense. Thanks bud. I’ll check it out this weekend. I’ll let you know how I make out. Thanks again.
