Hi Guys
My Flying Carpet keeps blowing fuse.. Worked it out that it's the new chime coil I fitted. The original 1 Point chime was missing. I ordered the coil A-12092 from PBS and they sent the A-5195 that they said was a replacement suitable for this machine.
However, I noticed that unlike the other 2 coils currently in the machine, this one has a small black resistor (sorry not too clever with component names) soldered between both terminals????
When connected, the 24V 15A fuse blows when I hit any 1 point switches (ones by the flippers). As soon as I de-solder and remove, the 1 point score works great and no blown fuses!!!
Any Ideas about this replacement coil fromPBS?
thanks

Snip off the resistor...only needed on SS machines

That's a diode. If left there, it will blow the fuse every time. It's not used on an electromechanical machine and should be snipped out.
