Hey Pinsiders - working on a Caveman and noticed the ground wire on the joystick was cut. I took off the tape covering the break in the wire and found a resistor. Now the joystick looks OEM to me. Why would you do this? Should I just remove it. The game isn't operational at the moment so I can't test it. Thanks in advance.

No Caveman owners out there? I can’t be the only one with this odd game.

Do you have the schematic? Definitely doesn't look factory. I don't know anything about this game though, so maybe it's there for a reason. Hopefully someone with a Caveman can chime in.

It isn’t in the schematic. I was thinking it could have been a service bulletin after the fact. I have a new mpu coming in the mail. I can try it with and without the mod. I was just hoping somebody could explain the reasoning behind it.

I was thinking the same thing. Well, good luck with your game! I hope to play one someday.

I don't remember seeing an extra resistor installed on my game.

I also don't remember seeing a service bulletin about it, but if there is one, it should be at the back of a parts catalog.
