The score switches should be open, they only close as the target drops for brief moment.
I had to gap mine a little wider than would be expected on a digital machine.

The tension of the reset bar is different depending on which targets are up or down. So you could get a stuck score switch with one combo of drops down and not another. Test it out as you set the gaps, I had to do it to where the switch barely makes contact on the widest part of the trigger that moves the switches. It was tough to get it just right, I wish I had replaced every spring in there when I had it apart to be more consistent perhaps.

As far as the reset bar, make sure you have both coils tight and adjusted correctly, there is a little play in the placement of the coil stops.
