Got a cactus jacks that boots ( if you can call it that) l have all 3 led’s flashing but garbage on the display and it don’t go into attract mode till I push the push button switch on the cpu.
I have replaced u11 74hc123. Upgraded R5&6 and have the Dallas ds1210 on order. In attract mode I still have some garbage and when the display shows extra ball the ra ball display is faint. In test the display is perfect. I may need a new U2 eprom but getting one here in the UK isn’t that easy. Any ideas anyone. Ken

There are 2 caps around U11, I think C20 and C21 ...you need to replace them. Another fix for garbage display is get the latest ROM revision but seems Cactus Jacks only has one per John Robertson ..Cactus Jack's #729 - CheckSums: GPROM - C215, AROM1 - B20F , AROM2 - 90D5, DROM1 - 2EE6 , YROM - 8B0E, GAL-U8. Try the caps first, they are cheap.
