Hi there. My Bronco has recently developed an issue with the bonus multiplier. I don't have the schematics and am not entirely sure where to start.

Basically, when you get your 2X multiplier (either by completing A-B-C or getting it at the start of your third ball), it will light up the 2X light but always give 4X bonus. If anyone has encoutered this problem before or knows how to fix it that would be great. Thanks!

Dylan.

The first thing you need to do is buy a schematic. http://www.pbresource.com/

This is an odd problem. I'm guessing that the score motor sw. in this sequence are holding too long.

I'll take a peak at the score motor and make sure everything is adjusted properly. Thanks!

The Motor 2C switch in currieddog 's diagram is probably misadjusted open.

Checked out the switches you recommended on the score motor, everything looks to be working in proper order. Gave them a good cleaning and adjustment with no change :/

What sucks even more about this situation is that this happened about 30 minutes after someone put a deposit on it. They are coming to pick it up March 2nd and would obviously like to have it working properly for them. Just my luck that it would break the day I sell it after nearly a year of working perfectly...

When collecting the bonus, How many times does the Subtract Bonus Unit solenoid activate for each 1/3 turn of the motor?

I'm not sure, i'll take a peak when I get home later.

Do you have a diagram of the score motor switch bank locations so I know which one is switch bank 2? I'm going to go over all of it but I just want to double check the one you mentioned for any irregularities.

Does this help? The original score motor diagram may still be stapled to the inside of your cabinet. And when you eventually buy a schematic, it has the motor diagram.

That would be a mistake. This forum is full of posts from people who tried shotgun cleaning & adjustments, and caused more problems than they were originally trying to solve.
What to do instead: Slowly and carefully diagnose one problem at a time and then fix only that.

Got my problem resolved, but I now have one more small issue. When I hit the start button everything works normally, but when I go to add another player, it acts as if I am starting a new game again.

Also, I did not end up cleaning the entire score motor, not quite sure how this problem came to be haha.

If the 1st Ball (U) relay is pulling in when this happens, see which of these switches is causing it looking at their relays and putting slips of paper between the contacts.
