I've compared the wiring of your chime unit to my Hot Shot and my other two GTB games and think you have the knocker wires incorrectly attached to your chime unit(see circled wires) . Maybe someone else with a Big Shot can confirm?? The game might work ok this way..at least until you earn a special.

Pinballbrian,

Have you check the wiring on the chime unit/knocker as suggested? I may be wrong, but if I'm correct this may have upstream impacts to the Replay Unit which may be very difficult to troubleshoot. Much of the advice given here is made with the assumption that the game is wired correctly.

Based on the schematic for Big Shot, I would expect a black and white/blue wire to be attached to the knocker. I believe the wires I've circled in the prior photo of your chime unit both belong on knocker. This makes me wonder what, if anything, is currently connected to the knocker?
