in your experience, did you need to swap some wires on the Jones plug receptacle? I bought a Sure Shot a couple of weeks ago that was missing the AS relay/match unit. I have a nice spare one, it fits perfectly, but doesn't work-at all. Over half the wire color is different between the spare relay and the plug receptacles. There is continuity to both bake lites, and I finally got a schematic, and am looking forward to figuring this out. Just need a jump start.

So it does need rewiring. I figured as such.

Right. My spare is for the match unit and has different colors.

    Quoted from cfh:

AS match relays are not plug compatible from game to game. Was yours totally missing? why would you buy a new one? all the rebuild parts are available from PBresource.com i would just rebuild the original. if that's not possible use the original wiring/plug and just transplant the parts from your new AS relay to the old frame/circuit board.

    Good to know.
    Yes, it was totally missing.
    I didn't buy a new one. Like I said, I had a nice spare.

    Quoted from Boatcat:

The AS Relay for the match unit uses 24 pins, 2 12-pin jones plugs, 11 wires to each board, (10 wires-each digit, 1 common), and 2 wires for the coil. If you have an alternating relay in the game, the free-standing switch located in the middle is what energizes it, which means you'll have a total of 26 pins, (1 12-pin and 1 14-pin plug).

Thank you! ? A great starting point.

Well Mike, that seems to be the best practical approach to this. Thanks.
