The game play remains the same for balls 1-3 for 3 ball play or 3-5 for 5 ball play. It basically remains the same, where all 3 balls play the same. Nothing else is wrong.

Ball advanced or player advanced mechanism gummed up. If you have never worked on an EM, get some help. I have seen so many of these taken apart and put back wrong. Then the job is way harder to fix

Thank you, I'm pretty sure a couple of the steppers are frozen. Can you remove the old grease?

Yes you can! 91# rubbing alcohol or mineral spirits work well.
