I’m working on a Hollywood Heat with a reset issue. Whenever any one of the 4 slingshots fire, the game will almost always reset. All other switches and functions of the game work fine. The slings are not cpu controlled. I’m looking for any suggestions on what to check at this point.

Quoted from Nokoro:

What do you mean by reset? Does the ball end and go on to the next ball? Does the game end? Or does the whole pin reboot?

As soon as any slingshot fires the display is filled with x’s, the game ends and goes immediately into attract mode.

Quoted from Nokoro:

Is there a slam tilt switch in the game? If you trigger that switch, does it end in the same way? Just wondering if the slings are triggering the slam tilt in some fashion.

I actually have the normally closed slam tilt wires soldered together. I’ve also check the other tilt and slam switches and they are set with huge contact gaps.

Quoted from Nokoro:

Ok but does it do the same thing if you trigger the slam tilt? Even if the switch is open, perhaps something is causing it to trigger like a short.

I’ll have to check the other tilt switches. The slam switches wires are permanently soldered together.

Quoted from Nokoro:

I guess I’m just trying to figure out if they weren’t soldered closed, would a slam tilt cause the X’s to display. I’m trying to narrow things down. I don’t know a lot about Gottliebs. I’m trying to figure out if there is a normal cause for that reset and then work backwards from there to figure out why the slingshot is having the same effect.

When the system 80 get tilts, it says "tilt" on the display. This is giving me all x's, I do not believe it's activating any of the tilt switches.

The reset board is also not plugged in on my game.
