Gottlieb 70's coin door question

I have a '76 Gottlieb Target Alpha. I'd like to remove some dents from the front of the coin door. Do the front and back "halves" or panels of the door separate? If so, how? I see four paws or hooks, on the edges of the door near each corner, but not sure if that's what's holding things together. I just don't want to make things worse than they already are.

Just in case anyone else searches this topic: The two panels that comprise a Gottlieb coin door (at least in my '76 Target Alpha), are held together by four tabs, located near the four corners on the back side of the door. I gently pried them up using some needle nosed pliers and, with some wiggling and shimmy-ing, was able to separate the two pieces.
