A couple things screwed up here that I'm having problems with. Correct spring set up? and in the circled area on the pic that little part of the arm is supposed to be on the gear, correct? It won't come through as is.

Circled part should be behind the gear as shown in your pic. Attached two from mine, the two surfaces marked with the arrows do the work of moving the gear...

Also look around the 3:00 mark on this video from Kim:
