Okay - the saga on my Flying Circus continues... the last problem I am having was the pop bumper relay being stuck at start up.

The truth is, the alternating relay is also stuck at start up as well. I discovered this by disconnecting the lead of the coil on the pop bumper relay.

Thinking maybe the stuck AR relay is energizing the PB relay?

So that begs the question, what could cause the alternating relay to stick at startup?

Any and all advice appreciated!

Your Flying Circus Alternating relay should be stuck on half the time. This includes immediately after startup. Which half the time it's stuck on is controlled by the position of the 0-9 Stepper unit, which is below the 2nd player score reels.

What part of Detroit are you in? I grew up in the North West part of Detroit near 8 Mile road and Lahser, until we moved 4 miles North to Southfield, when I was in 9th grade.

I actually live just outside of Detroit proper in Grosse Pointe ... grew up on the west side ... 11 mile and Inkster in Farmington Hills.

Where in Southfield did you live?

PS - thanks for helping me with my learning curve on the Flying Circus ... I really have learned a lot! In between the questions I pose to Pinside, I research like crazy on the web.

PPS - so the AR stays on at startup, but Pop Bumper relay staying on is not right, correct?
I have checked and cleaned the switches on the pop bumpers, especially the EOS switches on the for pop bumpers. (The EOS switch at bumper itself opens to close the pop bumper relay coil?) At a bit of a loss about this pop bumper relay issue ... any and all advice appreciated.

Correct

That EOS switch opens to release the pop bumper coil
