I have a Freddy and Waterworld that I would like to change the batteries in. Both take a 3 volt lithium CR2430 battery. I can't figure out how to remove the existing battery to put in a new one. Any help is appreciated.
Thanks

The cheap cr2032 holders fit nicely. Note that there are two positive mount holes. I'm using the lower one.

*** those sony batteries might be counterfeit *** but with the 28k 10 packs sold, i'd imagine they are fine. The chinese knock off cr2032 seem to have half the capacity of real ones, but they will still last damn near forever with a 6264 low power SRAM in standby mode.
You applied way too much heat for too long.
I would suggest taking a look at this guide:

Clean it up a bit with alcohol so you can see what is really going on.
I have seen much worse, it will still work... just needs a bit of prettying up.
