I got rear ended two years ago. The other party was at fault. Police report noted that as well. I call my insurance company immediately and gave them what they needed. My car was fixed in the next month or so. It was the easiest thing ever. It never once crossed my mind to call the other party’s insurance company. Glad I didn’t. Haha.
