    Yeah I did the same thing about 13 years ago. I got rear ended and my car was still drivable. The insurance of the opposite party was dragging their feet. I called them and said my back was hurting. They said You need us to set up a doctors appointment? I said no my car is beating me up driving it around all messed up I might need one soon. I had a appointment to fix my car and rental the next day.
