Just got a chance to rip open the box. He did a great job. Gonna go try and put it in the game right now.

Wow, he looks awesome! So Donny himself painted this?

    #3 10 years ago

That is ridiculously awesome. I don't suppose that DD is offering commissioning services, is he?

    Absolutely amazing!

    #4 10 years ago

Yes. Dirty Donny painted it. There was a thread a few weeks ago about him doing some. It was also on Stern's FB page.

    #5 10 years ago

Wow, I really missed the boat on that! Big congrats on getting one!

    #6 10 years ago

    Awesome job on the Sparky.
Is there a layer of clear to protect the paint ?

    #7 10 years ago

That's cool as hell man id be afraid to put it in my game id put him on a plaque and light him up. Get the Hemi mod for his head can't remeber what its called its has wire that glows its a head cap to make it look like he's really gona get fried

    #8 10 years ago

    He's in!

I think there is a layer of clear. I'm glad it's not real shiny like the finish on the original Sparky. Not a fan of the glassy look.

    #13 10 years ago

    Way cool!

    #14 10 years ago

Very nice.... thanks for posting the pic

    #15 10 years ago

    Awesome! \m/

    #16 10 years ago

Very nice. I figured those who bought them would keep them out of the game and use them as a show piece. Cool that you actually put it in the game.

If I had one and a MET, it would have to go in the game.

    #19 10 years ago

Yeah, no way I wouldn't put that in the game. Looks awesome. Tallica Sux.

I am installing Sparky into the machine right away, once I receive it. Based on the current Sparky there is very little wear, so I am willing to risk a couple of paint chips. I may add an extra layer of clear on the lower portion of Sparky as a jock strap.

    #21 10 years ago

Mine is going in as well when it gets here.
    He looks great.

    #22 10 years ago

This is awesome. Sorry that I missed my chance to get one of these done up. I to would be sticking it in my machine.

Also I think the green looks much better and matches the table aesthetic better than the flesh skin tone.

    #23 10 years ago

Boy I missed that op, this is really awesome

    #24 10 years ago

Here you go incase you haven't seen it just my taste but would look sweetg comes in what looks like yellow orange or blue I believe would look awesome.

That looks absolutely stunning in the machine. Kudos to you for not being afraid to beat on it either.

    #31 10 years ago

    Thanks guys. Thanks Dirty Donny.

Has to go in the game. I don't Care how beat up it gets.

I remember seeing someone post that Stern is going charge $300 for Sparky when they sell replacements. Any truth to that? Maybe I can get some of my $ back from the paint job. I really don't think I need an extra.

    #32 10 years ago

How does one go about ordering a DD Sparky? Or is DD a friend of yours? Thanks.

    #33 10 years ago

He did a limited run. I believe he sold them all.

I think he's referring to selling his stock Sparky. Not the DD custom painted one.

    #36 10 years ago

Got my custom Sparky yesterday as well. All I can say is "frickin' awesome!"

    #37 10 years ago

Wow, I love that DD version.

The DIY one is great too.

    Enjoy.

Don't worry I know what he was talking about that's what I was implying I know how much the DD ones cost when they were up for sale a lot more then that I was stating id like the stock one. DD or stern could really market on this whole sparky thing if they made it more afforadble.

    #39 10 years ago

That looks awesome in the game! I'm so bummed I missed this when it was originally offered. Is there an artist on Pinside that has the skills to do something VERY similar for the guys who missed out?

I saw them when they were for sale he'd be taking a loss if he sold it even for 300. I do hope they don't cost 300

    Hogging them all to yourself
I thought he only did a run of 10

    #46 10 years ago

He did only do a run of 10... Was first to order so I took two... Sadly they will not ever make it to my game. A fellow pinsider has purchased them off me.. DD did a great job

Hey guys! I can reproduce this for those who would desire one.

Technique would consist of airbrush and detailed micro paint.

Roughly a two week turn around once I receive the figure.

    Price would be $250 shipped.

    PM me for those interested.

I agree but what do we expect perfection out.of the box? Please. Looks like I need to brush up on my air brush skills no pun intend.

Do you have any examples of your work that you can show?

    Thanks!
