My Gorgar machine was seemingly working fine, but now the "A" rollover isn't registering, along with the outlane rollovers. I tried cleaning the contacts, but they are fine. All of the others seem to be working okay, but I noticed that the slingshots do not trigger any sounds or add points either. The latter has always been happening, but I've never actually played another Gorgar machine, so I thought it was normal, but I finally watched a video and I don't think that's normal.

From what I can tell all of the fuses are in tact, so I don't think that's the issue, though they could be original, so who knows. I'm kind of at a loss, as I'd assume any rollovers connected to the same circuit wouldn't work, but maybe I'm missing something.

Any ideas?

Start with switch matrix looking for loose wires or shorted diodes.

So I should buy a Switch Matrix Tester? Might not be a bad idea in general, but definitely won't be cheap.

No, use the switch test mode built into the game. Auto/Manual switch down in your coin door, press advance, put auto/manual up. Then you press advance until you get to switch test, it's like the 3rd one in. (You will see a zero on the ball in play display if no switches are closed, and 03 in the credit display)

Then you can test the switches by pressing them. Likely you just need to clean and adjust your switch, or see if a wire has broken off.

There's no fuse for 'part of' the switch matrix, so don't try and think that's where it is.

See pinwiki.com in the williams 3-7 section for information on switches.

I wouldn't bother with a switch tester just yet -- hopefully it's a broken off wire or diode at one of the switches on that row of the switch matrix. You want to check the wiring and diode at *all* of the switches on this horizontal row, 6 in total (including the ball-roll tilt on the left side of the cabinet!):d90f177284cfb98f87c74057233eea4dd3375371.jpgd90f177284cfb98f87c74057233eea4dd3375371.jpg

Gently tug each wire and each diode leg at each of those switches--hopefully you'll find one loose or broken etc... Looking at the schematic, you'll want to focus on the white/red wire(s) at each of those switches.

Than you frunch and @slochar. I’ll have a look at this as soon as I can
