I have a Gorgar that I just put a remote battery pack in. Prior to this everything was working 100%. Now for some weird reason the credit knocker is just randomly firing. The game is on freeplay. It will do it before you even start a game and randomly while playing. I checked Q41 and Q38 and both seem to be good. Solid solder joints, but removed solder and reflowed anyway. No change. Coil ohms good too. Not sure what in the world is going on here. I also looked for random loose solder floating on the board on both sides and didn't find a thing. All connectors are new including the 40 pin. Double checked 2p9 pin4.

The driver transistors are basically "dumb switches" something in the logic is telling them to turn on incorrectly. Start with checking/replacing the driver PIA that controls them.

If the knocker just pulses on, and not staying energized, I would suspect coin switch circuit.
