I use a 200 Watt 6.5" 8 ohm Pyramid mid range subwoofer from Amazon. They're cheap and it improves the sound immediatly. I really don't think it needs anything else.

Post edited by cwg29 : Wrong link, now for 8 ohm speaker.
Quoted from Jared:Direct bolt in replacement? LOL man why would anyone pay $65 for one... sheesh!
Easy swap, perfect alignment, no mods!
Yes, double check the speaker resistance and the Pyramid speaker aligns with the screws exactly. Sorry, I speak in short hand sometimes.
Just another piece of info. I tried Pyle speakers which seem exactly the same but the sound was actually worse.
Oh no, I just figured out where some of the confusion is coming from. When I search for Pyramid 8 ohm speaker on Amazon.com it shows the 4 ohm speaker. And on top of that it's not very clear what resistance it is. I apologize. My BK and Space Shuttle are 4 ohm. Gorgar and my Buck Rogers are 8 ohm. So here's new link:

I'll edit the other post. Again my apologies. If you were to use the 4 ohm speaker a 4 ohm resistor would have to be added to either terminal or two 2 ohm resistors on either side, just as long as the amp sees 8 ohms worth of resistive load.
I was thinking about the resistors in series 1+1=2. Parallel circuits RT=1/1+1 or something like that. Precisely why I keep a test meter! It never lies
