So got new batteries. Code came up again open coin door. Turn off and on played a game. Waited 1/2 hr. Turned back on all seems to be back to normal. Does this happen every time you change the batteries? I don’t remember this happening last time i change them.

Hello all, I noticed 2 wires came loose from the GAR drop targets. I cant belive I didn't take a photo before I cleaned them. Would someone please post a photo? I have a idea where they went but just want to make sure. Thanks a bunch.

How does Gorgar do with LEDs? I’m doing the playfield swap and was thinking of making the switch at the same time. Any ghosting/strobing problems?

I had Comet make me a set last summer. They did color matched non-ghosting LED's for the inserts, warm white for the playfield GI, and natural white for the backbox GI. The controlled lighting for the backbox was natural white non-ghosting. I got their white tower flashers. All behave very well. You do need to remove the warming resistor for the flashers or they will stay on all the time.

Only if you change them while the power is off

Hello all, I'm installing a new ring kit but it's not correct and it didn't come with a chart, missing rings and wrong sizes but other than that it's fine. I have a bunch of extras but I would like to make sure I install the correct rings at the correct locations. I cannot find a Gorgar ring chart anywhere online. Does anybody have a photo of one?

#1060 3 years ago

I found this online hope it’s correct getting ready to do my game as well.

I made that chart, based on what came in my gorgar. It worked, but a couple changes could make things fit better. The one labeled F in the top right should probably be smaller. I don't believe an official rubber ring chart exists.

Could you share your chart the one you made, it may help me and @iamdrunker

Here is a pic of my game just got a display issue fixed last night now getting ready to clean it up.

I’ve been waiting on cpr Playfield for years and now that I have the opportunity to get it from Micro I can’t make myself do it. It’s because I lost the steam to restore it. I can’t explain it. The thrill is gone

I have Led's in my Gorgar for about 8 years now. All lights are replaced by LED. The Led beneath the 3X has a ghosting effect Only at start of New ball until it hits a switch. I use the non ghosting version Led's

I don’t blame you. This is taking way longer than I thought.

And now I broke one of the fin screws that hold the flipper sleeve into the playfield. Now FOURTH order to Marco?!! Ugh. Anyone have a spare black fin screw I can use?

Anyone have a Gorgar back box or light board for sale?

I like clamping my playfield to the rotisserie, taking everything to bits, cleaning, adjusting, leveling inserts, you know the drill. But for some reason I always leave the robbed and abused coin door for last. Here is another example.

So do I. It's weird too because I really like doing them whenever I do. They're usually really fun because the results are so dramatic.

I love those score cards where did you get them? What color led light did you put under them as well?

Hey does anyone have a new or excellent used version of this plastic? I bought a whole set new, opened them and it was broken!! Problem is I bought them so long ago I can’t remember if I bought them directly or second hand or even where I got them to get a warranty replacement.

Hey Gorgar peeps, anyone know some color matches for cabinet art? I don’t want to do a whole stencil thing. Maybe just fill some dings and touch up. So I’m more looking for colors that match current rather than original. But anything is better than raw wood.

Ideally off the shelf colors so I can order online. But I’m open to ideas

Thoughts?

Well, it's finally done!
Gorgar may be my favorite pinball machine ever so when reproduction playfields came out I decided to jump in head first.
2 ish months later I get to play this beauty. I made it exactly how I wanted and I couldn't be happier. New playfield, plastics, pops, displays, drop targets. Upgraded the flippers and speaker and had Chris Hibler go through the boards.
I gotta tell you, it's a relief to have this thing done with relatively few headaches. Now, I'm going to go see if Gorgar appreciates the work or if he's still a nasty SOB.

Looks awesome! Any problems with holes lining up? And I’d consider a cliffy on that left scoop before you play too much. Mine chipped.

I’m kinda in the same boat..I have some wear n tear right in the middle of pf above the flippers. Is there a decal anywhere that someone’s made, or a lil t/up w paint a better alternative? I love the game, and getting a new pf would be the shit, but can’t justify getting 1 now..

This is what I used. I spent some time just going over all of it so it looked like new but it would be great for touch ups. I got it from Michael's art and crafts. Good luck.

How did this go adding it to the new playfield? I've been considering this on mine as I need new flipper bats anyway and have a playfield swap to do.

Ok Gorgar fans, my “restoration” is finally done. I thought I’d put up some pictures.

The Mirco playfield is beautiful, if fragile and miss-drilled. I lost a chunk of clear at the left sling and left scoop. Both were caused by holes drilled in the wrong place but Mirco says he’s sending me a replacement playfield.

The good news is that Saint Cliffy made a BRAND NEW protector for Gorgar’s scoop! It fits like a dream and will cover all those damaged left scoop areas. Super easy to install and really cleans up the area. (One note about this, his protector is made to fit the original playfield and it does. The Mirco repro hole is just a hint smaller so the protector still works —and is highly recommended after my experience— but I shifted it back a tiny bit).

Also, his lane guides are a MUST if you want the sweet roll to your flippers from the inlanes. Makes them play like new. See pics below.
