Really?! What in the world is someone going to do with this? Now I've seen it all...

    I think it’s cool.
If I owned it, I would stand in front of it every morning and do the truffle shuffle.

Cool and unique that's for certain!

    This is hilarious

Nice topper for the Goonies pin.

    #7 1 year ago

This is super cool but probably no way to truly authenticate it.

Someone needs to buy this quickly, because
the window of opportunity may be closing.

Lol, I’ve been missing the fun! *subbed to my own thread* talk crap all you want, doesn’t change the fact that this is, indeed, the center 1st floor window that overlooks the ocean. I met the previous owner Sandi, in person. It was an incredible experience being in that house. Here’s the letter of authenticity. PS, one could frame it in plexiglass and get the party gold coins and jewels, with the poster behind it..perhaps get a replica map in that display case as well ..

That's not how something gets authentication.
You would have to show pics of removal and have the house documented of being in movie. The letter you show is not notarized or even showing address.

I am all for it as it's pretty cool but a window?

    What do I know, glwts.

I bet the same lady probably has a letter signed by One Eyed Willy himself regarding some old coins she’s trying to unload too.

No one is doubting your story. But you don’t have authentication. Shit, your letter doesn’t even have a time, date or address listed. Lug that thing to Pawn Stars.

Did you actually buy that window from
    This mystery lady??

A quick Google search of Sandi Preston yields irrefutable results!

Yes, I bought the window from her. I’m going to take the Ad down. Some pretty lameass peeps killed the mood. Yes, it hurt my feelings. Sue me, I’m human..Pinside is getting uglier every day. I've already blocked a few 'turds' on this thread. I don’t need other people’s drama! Like the Scooby-Doo thread, you cannot keep a good thing good.

    #17 1 year ago

hope you sell it, whether it’s here or elsewhere. It’s pretty well known that Sandi Preston sold the house last week, and has been selling off stuff from the house/film

Not intended to hurt your feelings. Maybe you have never done something like this before and it was worth being told that you need to reorganize.

    Ever watch Pawn Stars?

People have crazy odd stuff and want big money and that's all fine and well but authenticity always comes up in the conversation.

I was not trying to deliberately rain on your parade, it just kinda happened with me bringing some light to the sale.

    #22 1 year ago

You’re upset that people are laughing or questioning your ad for essentially movie memorabilia on a forum that’s got literally nothing to do with film or miscellaneous collectibles? It’s a pinball forum. This has nothing to do with pinball. One homebrew and a failed deeproot game aside, there’s no Goonies pin. Maybe don’t be so shocked.

    #23 1 year ago

You and Sandi need to get some sort of official recognition of it being genuine from a third party. That note is nice but not going to convince many people.

    #24 1 year ago

I didn't even know that woman was still alive.

We can hire CSI to take samples from the framing in the house, and compare the wood DNA to that of my window for sale..and also the blocks of wood..it will match up..
lol..how much documented authenticity do we really need here? I can even get Sandi's DNA off of the letter and the window... It's not a 1 million dollar unopened Nintendo Cartridge ffs

I can't tell you she's alive now or not..We met up at her house almost 2 years ago. I do know that the house sold for 1.65 million (or close to it)..so per square inch of realstate, this is actually a bargain...literally. Take it for what it is..

[Removed]. They said they are willing to trade pins.....which kind of qualifies as pinball related.

I'm not desperate to sell this..look at my pin collection. I legitametly thought people would like a peice of movie history that resonates with the gen x and beyond crowd...But fuck me for trying to keep the spirit alive!

I think it’s pretty cool! I like the idea of making it into a shadow box of sorts. Get some autographs a poster and you have a truly one of a kind object.

    #33 1 year ago

    Op is delusional.

Op: why would anyone buy this junk from you?

Seriously. Anyone who actually pays more than $40 for a window touted to be used on the set of Goonies needs to get their head checked.

Maybe change the story in that the Feds dusted the window for prints and Chunks were located. Sounds more plausible than what you’re pushing currently.

Sadly this is the trend now on pinside.
    Trolls getting under people’s skin.
What’s so frustrating is these trolls who’ve effected alot of these fun threads,Scooby,Toy Story or this window ad.
Their “hurtful” comments are so weak at any humor or being witty it boggles my mind how anyone can be effected by it.
After all these years of being on the internet , I just don’t understand how you can let trolls have any effect on your emotions.
Just leave this ad up please and the bullies will move on to their next victim.
It’s so easy to deal with just ignore them !!
    Don’t feed the trolls.

    Sunday bump!

Maybe the way the op reacted to the NICE suggestions that his window isn’t truly authenticated wouldn’t have caused the snappy comments.

The first posters, myself included, told him he’d have issues with authentication. OP didn’t like hearing that, he made his own crappy comments, and the rest follows.

This isn’t a matter of “trolls” bud. This was an ignorant seller who couldn’t accept the truth.

Normally I’m not an ounce effected (and thanks for the encouragement btw). This will be the first Christmas without my mom alive, so these people including the wtf’ers don’t help that holiday cheer this year.

I’m trying to picture a situation where I buy this and show someone afterwards. Like next weekend when my brothers come over for Xmas.

Me: “Guys come down stairs, I gotta show you something sweet!”
    (Open workshop door)
    Me: “Look familiar?!!!”
Brother 1: “Uhhh no, is that a broken window frame?”
Brother 2: “I thought you were gonna show us another pin you bought…”
Me: “Guys this is the window from the Goonies house!”
    Brother 2: “haha what?”
Brother 1: “Oh yeah! Ha I guess I see it! Why do you have this?”
Me: “Some dude on that pinball site I tell you guys about sold it for $2500!
    Both Brothers: $2500?!!!
    Brother 1: “You’re a fucking moron…” (Goes back upstairs)
Brother 2: “You paid that much money for this?? For a shitty window frame? How do you even know it’s from the actual house?”
Me: “I have this letter from a lady named Sandi Preston!”
Brother 2: (Punches me in the gut knocking the wind out of me) “That’s for your own good, big brother. Get some help” (pats my back and leaves me on the ground)

For what its worth I saw the first craigslist ad when this was for sale by the original owner. Thought it was odd and would love to know who would buy such a piece of memorabillia...

Then a few months ago I happen to meet King Henry while buying an arcade from him. After bullshitting for a few minutes he showed me the window he picked up on craigslist.... haha..

Hes a good guy with a fun collection.

Good luck with the sale my friend. Hope all is well. Would be fun to play a game sometime soon.

    I think you've got a fair point.

Just because someone has something they waut to trade for a pin doesn't mean it belongs on a pinball forum. Makes me think of the Craigslist responders thst offer unsolicited wholly unrelated items in trade

so then it is fair to go onto every other non-pin related ad on pinside, and say the same thing? ..I mean, Pinside allows people to sell upright vids and such, and no one says anything about it..theirs no rules for it..and I've NEVER sold an upright video machine or anything else except pinball here..until now. So the blame goes to Pinside, not me...I certainly don't abuse the right of selling non-pin stuff.

    #44 1 year ago

How about you sell one of your pins plus the Goonies window (and Sandi's letter) in a package deal and make another post titles Goonies Window plus a pinball machine for sale. Then you will satisfy these stringent parameters.

not a bad idea..at least it adverts the window without getting certain folks in a panic.

I want to see a picture of the shooter lane.

No one’s in a panic. You’re trying to sell a literal piece of trash for $2500. What did you expect to happen? Your inbox to be maxed out and some kind of bidding war?
Throw this thing in the dumpster with the rest of the window frames that Sandi had replaced and come back with something from the film with relevance, sloth’s Superman shirt, the statue with the broken penis, Willie’s eye patch, Cyndi Lauper, the wishing well penny with Martin Sheen, Chester Copperpot’s wallet

    Quoted from Rehamed:

Really?! What in the world is someone going to do with this? Now I've seen it all...

Just joking around OP, good luck with the window sale.

    #49 1 year ago

Come on people. OP is trolling you all. This isn't real.

    #50 1 year ago

Bizzare things get sold all the time for crazy money so this doesn’t surprise me. I’ve also watched enough pawn stars as well to agree that the existing letter of authenticity doesn’t do much for this sale. Even $500 whatever’s require legit authentication. I don’t doubt this a window from the house but without authentication it commands little to no value… that is assuming it had
Much value even with the letter, which is questionable. Not trying to be negative, this is just reality.
