Quoted from RyanStl:

The processing is all done on Google's end. To me this is great because no console cost that will be outdated eventually. However, does the community believe this is viable way to game right now? Should I stay away?

The WiFi controller connects directly to googles processor. I bet there will be lag or delay depending on your internet service. Everything will be streamed to you, you’ll need fast, reliable, unlimited internet. Google has a history of cancelling services without giving much notice to the customers. If this isn’t as popular as they want it could end abruptly.

Most gaming YouTube channels are skeptical of this success.

Just look at all of the previous google services that have been shutdown in the past. Then remember you don’t own anything with this service, so a decade from not you might not have access to your save files. It will work as long as the servers are running.

Our Apple TV just did this too, rolled out games as of yesterday. We did NOT subscribe!

I think the Apple arcade games are downloadable and playable offline. Although that could be one of the other games as a service models I've seen recently.

There are a bunch of these now

Negative delay. Hahahaha. Now that’s a buzz word

Off site computing can never be as fast as local computing. Because physics. Even if you are traveling at the speed of light with fiber optics. There’s just no way that it could faster then a computer sitting in your room.

If google implements an AI algorithm to predict user inputs before you press the button, then are you really even playing the game? At that point it’s just computers playing computers.

Quoted from bingopodcast:

No perceptible lag,

Google marked it as “negative lag”.... dose that mean an algorithm is predicting your inputs?

Quoted from bingopodcast:

Where possible I buy from GOG, but that is also an imperfect solution as then I have to set it up through steam to get in home streaming. With GOG, you actually own the software,

I think GoG games are also DRM free.

Quoted from PinMonk:

Google is now giving no-questions-asked full refunds on Stadia hardware. The returned units are not being refurbished, they are being destroyed.
Unofficially, that means it's over. Is this the fastest cradle to grave for a Google product ever?

Now this makes mo want one. If it’s cheap enough, it would be worth it as a collectors item. I’d leave it in the packaging and put it on a shelf. These might be rare in 30 years.

Then I’ll make a YouTube video showing off the antique google controller for their failed short lived console experience.

Cancelled google products. Will stadia join this list in 2020?

How’s stadia these days? Sounds like it’s not going to last much longer.
