The pinball scene in Cleveland was pretty good, but I packed up my 4 pins and moved to Philadelphia for a new job. I've been to the Allentown show a couple times in the past and I've read the Pinball Gallery (closed until June) and the Railroad Street Bar & Grill are good to check out.

I just bought a house in Hatfield (actually closer to Hilltown) so if anyone is in the Bucks County area let me know if there are any other places to play, local leagues, or just would like to say hi.

Anybody been to the Pinball Parlour latel?. Old posts and Yelp reviews seem to indicate the games are generally in poor operating condition. Looks like there used to be leagues there but no longer. Too bad because it is nearby.

Yeah, I was there about a month ago. Pins were trashed and unplayable, owner is cross-dressing now. Seems like their problems are bigger than just lack of time/money.

Railroad Street is badass and Pinball Gallery will be back up in Malvern before long... You need to get out to the Village Arcade in St Peter's Village if you like EM pinball. It's about an hour away from you and only open Sat & Sun, noon until 5pm (sometimes later if everyone's chillin) but the machines are in fantastic condition and set to 2-3 plays per quarter so... I live nearby so hit me up if you'd like to pre-game. =)

Go to the Allentown Show next weekend and network with some locals. There will be plenty of local guys there, including me Welcome to PA!

Ironically, I will be in Ohio during the Allentown show. I have a family commitment I can't miss back in Cleveland. I'll probably pass all of you on the highway going the opposite direction.

Haven't had one yet. I've asked where to get a good one and haven't gotten a good answer in my area. Maybe I have to go down into the city..

Yup, Pat's and even more Geno's are awful and there for tourists. You'll find much better cheese steaks in hole in the wall places without celebs pictures all over.

Jim's on South Street is my personal fav in Philly; I'm actually not much of a fan of Pat's/Geno's (they're interchangeable IMO). The bread is the most critical part for me - if it's not a Conshy roll, I prefer places that bake their own. Amoroso's isn't what they used to be.

What is the name of the pinball/ice cream joint? They had a nice lineup when I was there a few years ago.

    Margo's?

They are moving to Malvern, which is a little closer to the city.

Born and raised in Philadelphia and have been all over through my 66 years. Chink's has been on Torresdale Ave. in the Northeast since 1949. Two years ago changed names to Joe's for politically correct reasons. I understand they now also have a location in Fishtown. Great steaks and great milkshakes.

I have eaten 100's of cheesesteaks and there are many good ones in the greater Philadelphia area. I still love Chink's/Joe's!

Agree on the assessment of Pat's and Geno's, but they are tasty and are part of the South Philadelphia culture. They are definitely worth checking out. Go before an Eagles or Phillies game, or right after Wing Bowl!

Welcome to Philly. It's a great town.

Try the cheese steaks from pizza shops around your area until you find the best. Some of the best steaks I've had are not from cheesesteak shops.
