Is Goo Gone safe to use to get decal residue off of the Williams logo in the middle of a system 11 ball return apron? I picked up a used one off eBay because my current apron on my Jokerz has a decal shaped paint loss/fade/over scrubbed area on it's current apron where the Williams logo is, and the "new" one i got on eBay has a decal in the same area, so i wanna make sure i don't' do the same thing to this one when i go to remove the sticker.

See Pictures

Thanks!

Goo gone and Goof Off can and usually will take off paint. Use Wd-40. Let it set for a few seconds then rub it off with your finger. Clean with warm soapy water.

I thought wd40 was only good for squeaky hinges and getting tar off your hands. Good to know it's got positive pinball uses too

I can, regrettably, confirm that goo gone will discolor the base paint on a system 11 apron. It didn't take the paint completely off but you can see anywhere it made contact.

I guess I was lucky. I used googone to remove old op sticker residue and didn't take off anything.

Thanks for all the replies guys!!

It is interesting that it doesn't seem to hurt the PF (I used it liberally on my whirlwind PF when i removed the mylar and it looked absolutely new) which to me i would assume to be "softer" then the paint on the apron. But i guess the "chemical makeup" may be different too.

Aside from WD-40, what about 91% isopropyl alcohol? I used that to remove all the goo on the mylar "insert" under the plastic upper PF of my jokerz when i installed a new upper PF, and it came out like new. Seemed to break it down pretty quickly too.

91% Will take off the paint. Heck on some SS pins I've had simple green and even Windex take off paint.

I used goo gone on a 1981 Bally apron and the results were great.
It sounds like it could go either way.
91% IPA is a no no for aprons for sure.
I think I started with water/soap and an old credit card and started scraping -- had to move to goo gone.
