First of all, the plan was every 2 weeks. Not every week.
Second of all, anyone that's ever worked in software knows that shit happens, even with more predictable content than something interactive like a pinball machine. Vic knows this as well as anyone here given his background. There's a layer of creativity involved here that takes iteration time and not every idea that sounds good on paper is just going to work.
Even if they move to a release schedule that's every 3 weeks...hell, 4 weeks for that matter, it would be significantly more frequent code updates than anything they've put out in the last few years. Kudos to George, Lyman, and Stern for trying this and being public about it. We should be rooting for it to work out as it would be an approach that could benefit *all* games moving forward. I don't understand bitching about things taking a few days longer than originally planned, especially on this game relative to some of the other titles that haven't had updates in quite a while. It's like some of the people here *want* them to fail so that they have things to bitch about.
If you're new to the hobby and are legitimately surprised that the code shipped really early, well then that sucks. At the same time, I would much MUCH rather see early code at release that is given more time to develop. The potential for code to grow into a kick-ass, unique experience outweighs having it "done" when I unbox my game.
