I purchased a goldeneye with nonworking magnets and in diving in I think the mag board is bad. I did see a thread with a guy custom making them but he looks to be a couple months out on completion. Is there anything I can physically check to make sure the board is bad? Also will a Metallica mag board work in place or is that asking for trouble? Thanks for any insight!

Yes. It’s flashing on run and it does nothing

Yeah best way I would think is buying a new board.Im glad someone in the pin hobby is remaking these boards because for a long time now you couldn’t fix this issue and on top of that the value of the game goes down when mags don’t work

There is no way the Metallica board would be compatible. The board being made is high quality. You could also send it to one of the Pinside board guys. I bought the new board and kept old one as a spare.

Thanks for the heads up! Who would I contact? I know Eugene but unless it’s the rom chip he can’t do much for it.

There is a twister board for sale on Marco specialties.. will that work if I swap my chip?

Chris Hibler,Borygard,coin op cauldron ...

Now I’m wondering if there is some special reason these boards were not repaired and then that guy overseas started making them. Do a search and ask them if they can repair. Good news is if they can’t for some reason the replacement board is really well made.

I would pm the guy who makes the replacement boards. When I ordered mine I had to specify if it was for Goldeneye or Twister. He would know the specifics. Fun game.

You double checked all the fuses right (under the play-field and on the power driver board)? There is also a 'Service Bulletin No 84' that you can lookup which addresses an overloaded fuse running the mag board. I had to replace a fuse recently under the play-field and F20 on the driver board (which has the service bulletin performed) to get my magnets working. They didn't look blown but after putting new ones in everything started working. I think they could have been original and almost 25 years old.
