Hi all,

Went to fire up my Goldeneye last night and received the following message on boot (pics included).

Checksum $EEFF
USA CPU 4.0

The game then states that it has 5 balls missing and goes into a one cycle search mode before finally going into attract mode.

It will not start a game once in attract mode; it hunts for the balls one time and then goes back into attract mode. In the diagnostic menus the game will not allow me to clear the ball trough.

It sounds like a bad chip to me but I have no idea where to start. This is a new one on me so pardon my ignorance. First time seeing an error like this before.

Well I installed a new CPU ROM 4.04 hoping that would solve my issue and no dice. Still getting CHECKSUM $EEFF and the game states that it has 5 balls missing. Not seeing anything abnormal under the playfield and the game will not emply the trough in the options menu. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!
