Quoted from Anony:

It seems like they cut back the dev manpower for Golden Tee a lot. There are so many issues these days and even with players like Marc doing testing for them and working directly with them to understand what's wrong they don't fix much. I have a feeling the codebase is so old and fucked at this point that any fix immediately breaks something else.
I've seen some numbers and they're down to something like 1/3rd of the player base they used to have 10 years ago. Now they seem to focus on casino and mobile stuff, so it's a bit of a self fulfilling prophecy at this point. The player base won't improve if they don't improve the game.
Makes me think the PGA partnership was a last ditch effort to kick start the player base back to what it used to be. Problem is most casuals don't care and the hardcore players certainly don't care about PGA branding.

My thoughts exactly.
I was disappointed that Daly was not brought back- since i'm sure it has to do with the PGA tour branding. It was fun playing vs him.
One of the bars I spin a few games at has 3 machines. 2 legacy and one PGA. Guess which machine sees very little game play.
When PGA came out- I was at 90% to eventually purchase one....now i'm not even sure i'm at 10%.

Doesn’t John Daley have terminal cancer? That could influence his ability/desire to continue working.

The LIVtour would be a better fit for Golden Tee .

Now that the club pass season is over, what level are you all at? 178 here.

Next one needs to be at least 100 levels.

I tell you what dealing with customer service have been a horrible experience for me. So after building my pga deluxe stand I realize they Sent me the wrong tv bracket. They included the alternative bracket. When I really need the standard bracket assembly. After two weeks and getting no where with them. I had my distributor contact them and supposedly the right bracket will be shipped. Really a frustrating experience dealing with I.T. I am hoping the right bracket show up so I can hang the tv..

I picked up a 2019 CID last week (running 2021 offline) but was curious if I pay to have it made a home edition, would I be able to play online? IT wants $500 to upgrade to 2022 and HE switch which I don’t know if I want to do. If I were to get a commercial 2019 hdd and chip, would I be able to play online as is?

#3207 1 year ago

If IT says it’s $500, it’s $500. No way around it.

But there is a lot to unpack there. CIDs have nothing to do with features, why did you buy another?

My advice is to not pay anyone anything until you verify all of your parts are legit. Who sold you the CID and why?

You can't play a commercial machine at a home location. When you call IT to try and register it they will make you switch the CID over to HE, so if you want to get online there's not really any way around paying for the switch.

Ok thank you. I built and upgraded my old nighthawk from Silver Strike bowling. I got parts to run SSX, PPL, and GT live to run all three games in one cab with my switcher. The GT Cid was the last part. Since I bought the offline chip and hdd for GT (2021), it doesn’t care what year cid you have to run. So I was happy to have the 2021 and other two games running. I’ve only played the 2021 for a week or so and have fun, but I wasn’t sure if there was a cheaper way to hop online if I kept the 2019 year but sounds like I’d need to do the full upgrade.

For those of you that do play online, do you have to pay for the new year and online access every year to STAY online? ($300 upgrade +$100 opine fee)? Or once it’s HE, you can play online as long as you want?

#3210 1 year ago

CIDs don’t have years, they are game specific.

In the past when people have offered me “offline” chips that meant they were hacked. I’m not saying that’s what you have, but there is a LOT of BS out there.

Also, if your CID is hacked, you won’t be able to use it online. If your security chip is hacked you are going to need a legit one before you get online.

Just double check before you spend any money.

You won’t have to pay for every new year to stay online, but you will need to pay the yearly $100 online fee, which I think is going to 125.

Still can't play

#3216 1 year ago

Sorry guys.

We should be good for this week. Sometimes life happens, i believe this is the first that didn’t go so I expect we will have a game this week.

#3217 1 year ago

Sorry guys that was me last week. I left for a cruise with my kids for spring break and didn’t see the invite until I got back. Totally my bad . Sorry about that.

After a month of waiting for parts finally got it up and running. Still have to finish the stand ,but excited to play a game... few questions.
Do you just turn off the game with the power switch? No booting before turning off ?
Lastly connect to wifi. It still won't let me play online. And simple answer ?

Thx

Yes just turn it off, no need to do anything special when powering off.

Have you contacted IT to register it and get your subscription going? It can sometimes take a few days but you'll need to speak to IT and have them activate your machine. If you think that's been done already and you are still red lighted you can go into the settings and choose the option to force a call to I.T, that can sometimes get it online. If not try leaving it on all night and it may connect.
Most likely though they just haven't activated your machine yet. It's a pretty out of date way of doing things.

#3220 1 year ago

I did register game thru their website. I will call customer service tomorrow and see what they say. Thx

#3221 1 year ago

Got mine today and instead of doing the website I called them and registered it. I had to cancel my old sub anyway. I was online by the time I had it set up.

I use a smart outlet to turn the game on from my phone about 10 minutes before I want to play. Also turn it off that way as well.

If you want in on the two weekly invites let me know. They go out on Thursday’s. Gotta pay IT $1 a week to play, no money in the tourney pool.

There is a button underneath the control panel on right side, above the drink holders...Hit that after it boots up and will take you to system menu for wifi config

That is odd, I wonder if that button is wired incorrectly. Tapping Spin should take you through the four types of spin -- bite, roll, backspin, and release.

But you say "when hitting to a green," do you mean while the ball is in flight? I know tapping Fly-By gives you different views while the ball is in the air, and holding it locks that one in for future holes. Not sure what Spin does when you're in flight.

Yeah you need to set your spin before you take your shot.

If you hit spin while the ball is in flight it will give you the reverse angle view from the hole. Hitting right will give you the view of the hole while following the ball and hitting left gives you a bird's eye view.

You can either sign up on their website or the app. I suggest the app since you can use it to login. Download the PGA tour app and sign up there. Then you can set a number and PIN to use for your login, or you can tap your phone to the NFC pad to log in. Most people use their phone number to make it easy to remember.

Once you have a character you can start earning exp and unlock clothing and other items.

I did a quick unboxing and overview of the pga cab I got last week. Give it a watch if you want, if you’re on the fence about upgrading I’d maybe wait a year. I just wanted to get at least 3k for my legacy before prices tanked. I don’t see that happening in hindsight because the price of the pga cab is crazy.

Questions for the pga owners,
Can you shut off the blue lights?
How loud is the fan on the unit?
I had an order version and found the fan to be very loud in a small home environment.
Thanks

Fan not loud at all, I got the standard and just did a nice stand off amazon and 43" Sony 4k tv...Looks awesome, I have it next to a row of pins and a Bullseye Dart Machine, so no more LED's needed, the deluxe was too wide for my setup.

Guests flock to Golden Tee, it's a classic...I love it, have been playing pins a lot more of late, but know that Golden Tee is bolted to my floor

You can only turn off the blue light by splicing in a switch inline or disconnecting it completely somewhere inside the cab. There is no easy way to do it, so I hope you need a big ass night light

Finishing up a combo legacy cabinet for someone this week.

Cabinet started life as a GT Unplugged, but has been modified since:

* perfect solutions switcher installed
* Arcade Collection installed on channel 1 of the PS switcher
* Golden Tee 2021 Home Edition installed on channel 2 of the PS switcher (the best version for offline home play, b/c it still has real-time rivals mode)
* translucent illuminated green trackball fitted
* new front panel artwork
* wing hardware painted white (why doesn't IT do this already???)

A nice little combo game that plays both Golden Tee AND Arcade Collection, both live-switchable on the fly in 1080p. No reboots necessary, no TV remotes needed, just play whatever game you want and *instantly* switch to another game on the fly.

So the perfect solutions switcher is switching the buttons, trackball, and the HDMI going to the monitor, and then you have dedicated PCs, IO boards, and CIDs for both Golden Tee and the Arcade Collection in the cabinet?

I guess you could even run some non-joystick and/or trackball arcade games off a MAME PC in there with a similar setup.

Good afternoon…. I have a 2019 GT Pedestal, upgraded to the 2020 edition. Recently my machine stopped booting up.

IT, while friendly as hell, has done little more than read the troubleshooting section of the manual over the phone to me.

When I “flip” the switch for power nothing happens… so I naturally pulled the Nighthawk out to inspect and troubleshoot.

I can say all cord, cables, tv and obvious things are good. I have tested the power supply voltages and all good there. (Even swapped with a different PS..same behavior) IF I jumper the ATX pins the fans, and IO board will fire up.

I pulled the graphics card and connected directly via the motherboard VGA (this was IT’s suggestion) to the tv just to see if I could get even the boot sequence to appear. Nothing. This was an attempt to determine if the GPu card was faulty.

You guys have any ideas? I mean… not sure where to start…. motherboard, RAM, gpu, hard drive, etc…

Right now I have an extremely large and expensive paperweight…ha!

Thanks in advance for any direction!

Matt

*I should note this came with a switcher that included SilverStrike, Putting game and Dart game… I pulled that just to make the troubleshooting easier…. Hopefully that was not a mistake.

When you jump the pins and it starts what happens? Nothing at all? No bios screen, no beeps or anything? If so that makes me think it's the motherboard because if it was the GPU, CPU or RAM the mobo should at least post still. However it depends on the mobo, it may not be posting if the CPU is bad.

EDIT: Actually after googling for a minute it sounds like the majority of mobos will not post at all without a CPU, so my guess would be CPU since the fans are spinning. At least CPUs for these machines are cheap but it will be a pain to get one just for it not to work, but I'm not sure what other troubleshooting you can do to try and pinpoint the issue.

I have tried to find this answer by scouring the ITSGAMES website and the web in general. I'm looking for a complete list of ALL the courses on the 2022 PGA Tour edition. Not just the 'PGA' handful of courses, but the entire list. Does anyone have a source for this?

If you have an account you can go to the build a bag and go to the associated courses section and see a list of them all. The PGA has all of these courses plus the PGA ones. Or you can go into the app and look at your stats for each course.

Also I shot my first -29 last night. I got a really good set up for easter island and was going into 17 with a -27. I fucked up on 17 and 18, I easily had a 30 or 31 if I didn't choke on the last two holes.

Thanks for the reply. If I do not jump the pins…the unit will not power on with the switch. When I jump and power…all of the fans turn on, the IO board powers on… but nothing happens in terms of booting up. No bios or any kind of startup activity.

There is one, small green led lit up on the motherboard…. That is all.

Pretty disappointed in the support from IT actually. Not sure how to even test a MB…. I hate just blindly shotgunning this piece by piece..but its looking like thats the route I am taking.

Maybe someone else will chime in that has similar issues…. Thanks again!

Ive heard similar complaints from people with these kinds of hardware issues. If it's their part like the I/O board they just ask you to return it and wait for another one and keep doing that until you stumble upon the broken part.

The issue of not turning on from the power switch sounds like your CMOS battery on the motherboard is dead. I would start by at least changing that just in case, but it really shouldn't prevent the system from booting, just from turning on when you flick the switch.

The other guess is that it's your CPU since the motherboard appears to be delivering power to the other components.

Your best bet is to ask on the facebook golden tee fan page. There are a few people there who know the hardware inside and out and might be able to give you more insight based on your exact symptoms. Marc Muklewicz is extremely helpful and will walk you through all of the troubleshooting steps you can take to try and nail down the exact problem.

Haha, I totally understand the sentiment but the groups there are surprisingly active for things like arcade games. It seems like almost everyone who is heavily into golden tee uses the Golden Tee Fan group. It's the best resource I've found so far for the game.

Alternatively you can try the discord, many of the long time players are on there too but it's not nearly as active as the facebook group.
