I'll go in for a set just to have a backup. More often than not the sling plastics are busted on this game.

Quoted from DirtFlipper:

I suspect PBR sets were made quite a long time ago, and were cheaper to have made at the time. Some of those sets are truly bargain priced.

I bet PBR sets are priced better because they don't do a set that might not have the volume demand and they make a bunch keeping the cost down.

What's funny is Steve was complaining - this was easily 15 years ago - about how slow/poorly the El Dorado plastic sets sold originally. He said he still had stock 2 years after they were produced. Essentially he implied he would not have made them had he known how slow they would sell.

Obviously the market has changed and we all win, regardless of the price. I committed to a set for Golden Arrow so they would get made. I don't recall if my game needs it or not.

Quoted from boilerman:

68 bucks for the el do set is a bargain, that set is large.

Originally they were only $50 a set.

I used to keep at least one set around as a spare also. It was surprising how often I needed it with the ED's that came along throughout the years.
