I'm looking at a Gold Ball for someone bought long distance. I only got to make a quick stop last weekend and do a couple of tests so I haven't dug real deep into it yet. I ran a switch test and everything worked but the Y switch up top and all the solenoids fired in test.
It will start a game and play the first ball normal and everything works fine but the Y. As soon as you drain the ball it just sits in the drain and I lose power to all the pops, the spinner and the outhole kicker. If I remember correctly the start button also stops working and you have to turn the game off and back on to reset. It seems like that would be a board issue to me? The board is pretty hacked up but he did play games on it the week before when he bought it.....

I'd ditch that original MPU, not sure why someone would waste the time and effort on one that trashed. Alltek all the way baby!

Totally agree.

After you replace the MPU check the front door coin switches for stuck or shorted. Then post a video of what the game is doing. It kind of sounds like it's going into tilt.
