Is Pinfest a good place to buy a pinball? I know people make deals prior and meet there but will there be people bringing pinballs for the sole purpose of selling them? There are a few "heavy hitter" titles I'm interested in buying and want to get a good deal.

Looking for a AFM, TOM, Wonka, TZ....

    Not really no.
    EDIT: It's better than ebay

    Why am I confused?

I’ve had some good transactions. Some fair prices. That said I haven’t bought too many machines on pinside.

It’s a great place and very exciting. Good luck. Might help to post a wtb in the pinfest thread.

Yes. Plenty of good deals to be found.

Looking for a specific title is always much harder than having a larger list or general idea of what you want. Allentown will be no different. You should make a WTB ad/post on Pinside in general, in the Northeast for Sale thread and in the Allentown Buy/Sell thread.

Post ahead of time of what you want and bring cash, preferably Benjamin's!

Post what you want in this forum. Many people going to the show read this forum because they have several pins they might sell and if they have a pin for sale that you want they’ll pm you.

Pinfest and York (White Rose) both are great places to make a deal on machines and parts, both ahead of time and at the show. That said, I find them best to look for project machines and lower-end titles. You will rarely see the more expensive titles you listed on the playing floor (unless they aren't for sale or are from a distributor) so if you do make a deal for one and expect it to play perfectly, make sure they can hook it up and show you everything works and/or do your homework on the seller.

Every time. I pre-arrange a purchase, I've been happy with it.....but also usually find other machines I wish I had the room to make an offer on.
