The seller will take $850, which seems to be about the going rate for this machine as far as I can tell. It's supposed to be in "good" condition. What are problem areas that I should look out for? I have read that Comet is a relatively simple, low-maintenance pin. Is this true? That would be what I am looking for -- a nice game for the kids that I don't have to constantly fix, quite unlike my DW, which breaks about every 10 games!

It is a basic pin, and fun. That doesn't mean it is necessarily low maintenance, as I have some very simple pins that I would love to strap explosives to.

Look for the ramps being in nice shape... No repros out yet, except for the corkscrew, but that's been delayed...

Depends how picky you are on the playfield. Comets are notorious to have wear around the pops, Funhouse saucer and the drop target area...

I really don't think there is such thing as a simple, low maintanance pin.... That being said, the only real issue I had w/ my Comet was a shorted flasher socket in the backbox.
