Agree. I think there is hesitation with a pending factory topper coming out. Now that is has been released not as much concern about not selling an aftermarket topper that has been upstaged by a factory topper.
It looks like Stern phoned this one in! What an uninspired design for 1K! I guess it matches the uninspired Easter egg shooter. Geez! What a miss.

In some ways it is almost like the topper's coolness is inversely realtional to how the game.

I was saying it a bit tongue-in-cheek... kinda like the March tournament for games.
I believe Elwins games get the worst toppers due equity and inclusion. He kills the other designers. So they lift shifty games with better toppers and give him the turds. It's so they can all feel important.
At an autograph session at Expo I couldn't believe some stern employees. They were so triggered and offended that my son and I really only wanted elwin to sign our translite.
So if I had my dream Star Wars memorabilia. I could make everyone feel good I should get the secretary signature, janitor, HR (barf), make up etc. No damn it would be Lucas, Hamill, Fisher, Ford etc.

I don't know. $1k seems a bit much but the JP topper was worse and wasn't far off this price point. I think Stern needs to outsource toppers to CGC.
All in all, I won't say I'm out...just that its a not a slam dunk so I'll revisit this in a few weeks and see how I feel after letting it settle in.
Thank God... I don't know how else people will no what game your playing. And Godzilla shooting atomic breath for the 7th time on the pin.

Watch the video. They mention what the price will be. Stern should have brought their A-game. It's their most popular game, it deserved more.
In my opinion, the Electronic Playground Challenger Edition is only slightly better than Stern's, but it sounds like they want more $$$$ than Stern. The player edition doesn't seem like its worth it.

It seems like every other thread has gotten spammed with posts about this. A plastic topper that isn't yet available, doesn't have Godzilla on it or any other IP that requires a license, it doesn't add any modes to the game, and still seems to cost more than the official and licensed Stern topper (at least in the full featured version or after add ons that will be available in the future).

Well, we know it costs $1000 to access... and its name... annnnnnd... yeah, that's it for now.

My brother was vacationing in Texas w his family and I asked him to swing through St Louis on the way home to "pick something up for me"...lol.....
