Hey all! Making a dedicated post to compile things I have currently finished and WIPs for GZ.

First is the Xilien spaceship. Its been modeled and painted to closely match the movie asset design and color, with minor adjustments to allow the RGB lights to show through. The clear resin is polished and coated to give it a clearer and slight magnifying effect to assist with the light exposure. Photos provided are the last design change prototype (very minor, but just refined some subtle edges). Unfortunately I was a little hasty and didnt let the last coat of white fully dry and might have gotten a paper towel stuck in some surface areas..... Only change I'm making is to the mounting bracket to lower the saucer about 1/4 of an inch to better hide the top part of the bumper housing.

For those interested, these will be $30 + shipping each. I have gotten a bit of requests on this one, so I'm about 2-3 weeks booked on making them at the moment.

Current WIP is making the jet fighter strike replacements. Wanted something dynamic by making it a 3d enhanced missile representation. Looking to have a draft for this by end of the month.

I am making sporadic amounts of Godzillas as well, just enough till I finish the fighter strike mode. I have a few spots left so if anyone is interested, shoot me a PM.

Ships are looking real good at a very fair price. Nice job!

Now that is a solid price!!!

Messaging you now for a saucer!

Awesome work!

Can't wait to see what you come with for the Jet fighter enhancement!

Got my first set made and starting to paint. Thought I'd show here also one of the color variants that came out from random spray tests...I like this pearl effect. Putting white next to it for comparison.

Minor update. First week or two of making something in volume was a learning experience. Had to slow down some steps so got behind initially (especially with the weather changes for the paint curing) so on to 3rd batch later than expected. Good news is with updating some of the processes I should be able to get them completed quicker. For those waiting on me for last week's batch, I'll DM later today.

Meanwhile as things have been drying and curing, have been working on the other project for the slingshot and ball guides / missile strike area. I'm a few steps from being able to have the raw missile strike prototype made, but have the slinghost mostly down. Adding some smoke trails up top and some details at the base. More updates to come as they're ready

While waiting for the UFO stuff to cure, got a chance to continue working on and getting a test model made for the missiles. Will have to wait till next week to get it test painted. Three things still working on is,

1. making a couple final adjustments to the slingshot topper

2. work on the translucent area of the missiles so the LED indicator will shines through properly

3. find the sweet spot size for the bomber plane and work on location+orientation so it blends with the other stuff and not obstructing much

For anyone interested, I'll have more details once I'm satisfied with a final product

Slow update on these things, but got the building model adjusted and been testing out different resin types along with painting methods for the base coat before adding detail. Satisfied so far with the flaming effect of the slingshot...a couple of minor tweaks to that base coat and adding some contrasting colors for the sky/etc to make it pop are next.

Also put me on a list for a full set if these sling covers etc when they become available. These are top notch looking mods!

+1 if I am not already.
thx

Thanks guys. Getting the right color scheme for the backgrounds is just taking a little bit of experimentation to get it coser to the comic-y feel. Its either coming out too serious or too much in the opposite direction. We're trying out a couple more things this week.

I just wanted to say how great the UFO mod is and a great price. Thanks Sergio.

Sergio is the new hot mod maker in my opinion, his prices are reasonable as well! If I hadn't spent a crazy amount on an open mouth GZ figure his figure IS EPIC! LOVE THE LOOK OF IT AND THE QUALITY IS SPOT ON! MANY THANKS SEEGIO!

#17 2 years ago

Much appreciate the support!

The mecha shield I'll have final looks early next week when we get some paints in hopefully this weekend (shipment delays for several of them). Also as soon as my pupper fully recovers from his hip surgery and weather improves, I'll be able to meet up with my project partner/painter more often to bump up our prototypes.

I have one more wireform mod (aesthetic) I'm working on that should round up the list. Few more adjustments and I'll post a pre-painted update in a week or two.

I'd be interested in the Godzilla figure and the slings/outlanes. Really cool work.

#23 2 years ago

Finally got in an array of colors to further test out scenes. Updates should be coming out quicker as I'm completing an airbrush station (also a little learning curve jumping into those new tools).

Still painting away, but added my mecha shield spinner top mod to the shop for anyone interested. Expected shipping is early to mid March for that batch and I'll contact those that had messaged me last month to follow up on those requests first.

Ditto - put me down for a set too! Thief sling shot covers look awesome so far.

Really looking forward to this, Can't wait for shipping update lol! No rush... love the sling/inlane guides also.

My pop ufo flew into orbit last night the stock stern screws were too short IMO found some that work though no issues.

Too short? Interesting. The thickness of the area that holds the screws is about the same as the original acrylic. I'll do some testing and make sure it's not a semi common occurrence. Worst case I'll order some screws to have on hand.

should be! Got a few more colors added today and tomorrow. Theres a lot of minor details involved with these to account for LED passthrough, color theme matching with the playfield , possible airball impact testing, and a couple of minor things that I have to take my time on. Super slow fitting in time in my schedule to make either digital or physical adjustments bit by bit, but not going to stop till all the pieces fit cohesively as a design.

Absolutely. Your pace is the only correct pace! Just excited and I will be ready to purchase when you are ready

Hi, I was a little late finding this thread but if you still have one of those UFO's mod available, I'm interested in getting one. Thanks!

My guess is the rumble from shaker motor and playing the game like a mad man have loosened quite a few of the screws on the PF. This typically happens on these new stern titles, I feel like a little locktite would help keep the screws in place a bit better than just torqued, and shipped but then locktite would be an added cost and potentially strip a fastener or dozens for someone wasn't made aware of the added adhesive.

I received my saucer and Godzilla mods from Sergio on Saturday and I think both mods look fantastic in my game. I usually not a mod guy but I appreciate both of these mods since they look like they could have came from the factory and don't clutter up the game at all. I'm likely all-set with my game now!

So got the color scheme template on what I want to do mostly figured out (the missiles draft in the photo). Things to do:

1. Add shadows/texture to missiles to complete the template. Get the sling building pieces to match. Essentially have them meet in the middle.
2. Some edits to the sling model for mounting discrepancies.
3. Add surface physical detail to the plane and paint it with more wear+detail. Play test to see how airballs from the slings that might jump over the pieces might do. All material will be in ABS type or reinforcement, but want to see what it takes to break it. The mounting will be in a hex standoff with metal threads, so should hopefully handle it nicely.

Final pieces will be mounted with a clear acrylic protector underneath for added support. Currently will be making the missiles in clear resin to allow the LED indicators underneath to shine through properly.

Sleal16 any update on the ball guide mods? I'm really curious if you've gotten any farther with either of them. I was hoping there would be something to see by TPF.

Yeah, man...combination of life being messy last year (I have a kid! still feels weird, lol) and a bit of constantly not being satisfied with my paint schemes made things move EXTREMELY slow. I really wanted to have it fully finished by sometime last fall. I am now generally satisfied with the overall color scheme and just made alternate jets that I like more. Plus got some new paints that I enjoy more for those jets. Finished those paint coats test trials earlier today. Will also end up selling them pretty cheap on their own for anyone interested. ~10-13 each? I know the F-86 on ebay (think from China) are a bit cheaper, but will offer as nice alternatives.

I'm ramping up getting back into things this week and will get faster once our kiddo can start daycare in a couple of weeks. These mods I'll do very limited qty of, at least for the next few months. I have ~5 that I want to finish in the coming weeks and might sprinkle some here and there in between breaks from working on other stuff. I will redo this thread to be more streamline later also, maybe just start a fresh one. Theres a scoop sign that i want to demo soon which might end up just being for me type thing. Stumbler's Neon Sign is top notch, I had just been going a different direction that I dont even know if it will aesthetically work out.

Very cool! I'm also really excited to see the missiles and the burning building mods in the ball guides. I absolutely love those and the planes add such a great effect too it. If you're going to be at TPF, I'd love to see them. If you'll be ready to sell all of that as 1 mod by then, I'd be very interested.
