I wonder if Godfather will be plagued with the licensor drama in a similar fashion to James Bond.

I thought the Godfather films were entertaining back in the day, but they were a bit slow. I hope the theme lends itself to pinball in a good way, but honestly I do not see this as a good "pinball" theme. We shall see.
Quoted from Freakyguy666:This might be the first and only JJP game deserving a Reskin with a more popular theme…
We'll see....but the severed horse head shooter rod is probably the best shooter rod in the history of pinball.
I just think if one is going to do a mafia type movie theme why not do Goodfellas? So many ways to go with that theme: Idlewild airport heist hurry-up, Maury's wigs special award, spot the chopper mode, etc, etc.... literally limitless options for modes and mbs. Anyhow.....I hope that the soundtrack is not the official Godfather soundtrack...I may fall asleep while playing.
Quoted from PanzerFreak:I’ve bought every JJP NIB but not sure if I can buy this one due to the state of code support at the company
Ya, you are much better off picking up a Stern Bond. Code is amazing.
Dude... Stern should be calling their lawyers right now and suing JJP for copying the Godzilla playfield. That ripoff is sooooo blatant. LOL!!
Quoted from CoolCatPinball:I was gonna say the same thing. CE actually looks gaudy and tacky.
It will be quite popular in the South Florida market
Quoted from jamieflowers:Hope these sell well enough to get one down the line. With GZ and FF there isn't room or money for GF.
Why would you have two of the same game?
I like the cabinet. Mo bling/mo betta.
Concerning similarities to another game... well it is more than the pop bumper.... much more. But at this point I will watch the gameplay and give it a chance. BUT if the extra ball is awarded by first activating the pop bumper (which stays lit for a few seconds) then hitting it again a few more times, then I may cry.
Sweet sweet karma
Quoted from insight75:Flippers have gotten burned a lot.... and there are a ton of machines available now.
Quoted from starfighter:it just never ignited a "fun" memory for me the way something like Big Trouble in Little China does.
Was not expecting that comparison....
Quoted from arcadem:I prefer games that my whole family including my grandchildren can enjoy.
Yes, do the grandchildren sing along to Night Train and Mr. Brownstone on your family values themed/wholesome GnR?
Quoted from CrazyLevi:I see some superficial similiarites, but it takes a long time to design a pinball machine. Steve Ritichie's been working on his JJP game for two years, if it has an upper playfield reminiscent of Foo Fighters are we gonna accuse him of a rip off?
....and Vanilla Ice was just influenced by Queen's "under pressure".
Quoted from CrazyLevi:Now where's my goddamn Bond code?!
I think those guys are helping the Foo Fighters team to ensure a smooth rollout of games.
Godzilla > or = Godfather ?
Quoted from Shapeshifter:I can't remember but there is an theory in quantum physics that explains these sorts of co-incidences
Quoted from doomid:Setting our LE up now at AYCE Gogi West Hills.
Looking fwd to first-hand account of your overall impressions. Thanks for sharing.
As an admirer of both classic flute and woodwind instruments such as the oboe, I find the music quite melodic and mesmerizing.
Personally, I wish the rollout promo videos were done in a similar fashion to the pharmaceutical drug tv ads. They should all be in slow motion and tell you how life changing their pinball machine is and then be required to tell you all the negatives the particular machine will inflict upon the player/owner.
Quoted from BallLocks:Mark Ritchie is the designer--Steve's brother.
.... and second cousin to Lionel
I heard on a podcast that the toys/mods whatever you want to call them are different on the two models. Personally, I do not understand the cartoonish look of the machine gun man on a serious themed game.
OK, you got me it is a childrens' comedy like Deer Hunter.
Quoted from branlon8:what makes GF a serious theme?
Quoted from screaminr:I like the direction they took .
It's a gangsta theme with the Godfather overlay .
Like everyone said how do you make this theme a fun game , this is how you do it .
I appreciate your point. To me it is similar if there was a Barney doll stuck in the playfield of Paragon or a a Tele-Tubby prominently featured in an Alien playfield.
Quoted from screaminr:A Tele-Tubby has no relation to an alien movie
Ummmm.... the comparison being that a Tele-tubby is an Alien??
Hey man all good. To each their own. I think the game looks beautiful! Now, if you'll please excuse me I gotta go mod my Godzilla with the Barney the Dinosaur doll.
Thanks for opening up my mind to your sensitivity regarding plastic toys. I apologize if metaphor and sarcastic analogy offended you or was perhaps over a certain mental threshold. I will strive to make my points in a strictly literal sense from now on. Although, I do agree with you that the adjective, "pitiful" is probably apt since argung about a piece of plastic is exactly that. So, ya I am guilty in that sense.
Quoted from branlon8:Oh, I get it, it one of those things you know it when you see it, but can’t say why. It‘s serious because you say so. Cool.
Ganz genau... alles klar
