iceman44 found the solution to the weak flipper feel, as have many others, I have the ultimate fix for that problem. It's also a good sign that it appears JJP has tweaked something in this game to improve the flipper feel.

I'm really liking what I'm seeing and reading about GF, I can't wait to test drive one at TPF in a couple weeks. At this stage I'm certain an LE will soon be in my home collection!

Quoted from PinMonk:

I don't know. I don't have them to test. I'm assuming they will delay the fade due to being able to turn down coil power since more force is being transmitted cleanly to the flipper, but they won't stop it.

Since it came up, and for what it's worth, I'm doing some testing of my own and thought I'd post a photo of my coil temps on AIQ after 90 minutes of continues play with my flipper system installed. Flipper response unchaged during the entire game. Coil power set to factory default, they peaked @ 108.6 F (42.6 Celsius) as shown in the attached FLIR infrared image. Ambeint room temp was 71 degrees F. Disclamer: I removed the paper wrap off the coils (saved the paper wrap for reference), but figured I'd let the coils breath!

PinMonk The photo was of the left coil and temp, the right flipper coil was only two degrees cooler than the left. I think your data for AIQ shows 150 F @ 90 minutes if I recall, I might be wrong?

What do you guys think of this for a possible game topper, or just to have stand alone as a compliment to the game? These are my prototypes, they measure 12-1/2" in height. One is hand painted life like, the other sprayed in gold/copper finish. They would be made to order, thoughts and feedback please.

Thanks for your comments, good bad or indifferent, it's all good as that's the only way to gage whether something is worth the effort.

More comments, that's good! Showing something new for the first time in these forum threads always makes for something new to chat about. I'm 3D resin printing them so the detail is very good. I have a very large format machine so I can make them any size I want and maintain the very fine details. I just might play with the idea of making a 50% scale or maybe even a 100%.

Good comments coming in, thanks everyone!

No cost figures yet, but working those numbers soon which would be volume driven of course. They are not solid, they are hollow core, wall thickness is sized accordingly along with a honeycomb internal support structure which makes them very durable. It does take some time to develope the models structure based on the size, it just takes time to fine tune it.

sevenrites You'll have fun with your machine, and yes the hard part is deciding what to make. Since I'm a die hard pinhead I already had several concepts in mind for some pinball related items. You'll have fun, just buy lots of gloves and paper towels
