Quoted from John1210:

Im in on an LE, I jist don't see the value in the CE... all aesthetic, which is cool but I want more game features for the added coin not just lights and trim. Topper is the only thing that would be worth it but I think toppers are a waste of money so that doesn't sway me either.

… The GodFather Limited Ed. It’s truly a masterpiece, but I do like toppers a lot, I simply love the topper of Attack From Mars LE, Batman66 topper it’s beautiful, and IMO the Cactus Canyon remake with that topper looks beautiful man…

My choice here was the CE because of the topper, the artblades are badass, also those golden wireforms, and personally the Radcal artwork with Vito looks very nice too, my GNR has the sparkle in the playfield and this will have that too… but yes, you’re right about the game, and we will have the same amazing game fortunately

Topper & Marlon Brando Jr. on it.

Looking forward to data about stealing territories in multiplayer.

I wavered on the LE/CE decision. I don’t really care about toppers but I think this is so over the top with bling and the title alone makes it almost like the Godfather of all pins in a way. The LE still looks great. Had I ordered that, maybe I’d already have it. I really want to play this thing. The CE also saves me the effort of inside art or blades and the exterior lighting. I didn’t want to have to deal with it even though it’s easy. So that with the topper and the extra bling is what made the extra $3k more bearable.

ohh really… thank you for the update, but that doesn’t tells me nothing, I’m very happy with my CE purchase made with my own money(so no worries).
I hope that you had a great time while enjoying the other games at TPF. Also, thank you very much for your time checking when the line was short(or without line)!
Cheers

No offense. Enjoy godfather lol I was just happy to check it out & not have to wait. Scooby pf was crazy whole time minimum of 30 minutes. Foo 15 minutes. My favorite foo fighters.

Did you guys really see issues with the playfield?

So it was no hustle getting a CE or are you talking about an old order?

#107 1 year ago

I was in as soon as pictures came out

Love gangster themes

Will go nicely next to my Old Chicago
with Dillinger

CE should be in the Spring

Quick observation while at the TPF godfather had the shortest lines & at times no line. Mmmm what does that tell you.?

That many pinheads don't know what they're missing out on.

Talking about my order for The Godfather. I really wanted it ASAP and the LE looks great so it was a tough decision for me to go with CE and a longer wait.

Don't know if you know or not but Eric said the art blades are metallic .
Hopefully no need for mirror blades

Asked bc JJP has "sold out" their CE half weeks ago but there are rumors they were holding a lot back so you may have been in a 2nd release wave bc of your tough decision but just saw you were on release.

I actually ordered on day one, but it felt like I waited all day until I made my decision. So I'm assuming I'm on the first wave, whenever they get to production.

Also, here's The Godfather presentation from Jack and Eric at Texas Pinball Festival.

I have it timestamped ahead to when it begins so you don't have to go through 55+ minutes of other stuff.

lol As I look back I ordered day one also (March 7th) but I could have sworn it was day 2. It's funny how we both had that same feeling.

Does anyone know if the CE badge #'s are aligned to the order sequence? Not that it matters much but I am curious. I don't know how many people bought on DAY 1 but I guess it would make sense to give those people the first (lowest) numbers.

#114 1 year ago

Ce ordered but, I keep thinking I want the LE as I like the black.
I wished they’d just make one game and offer a topper / different armor or something. I guess they would be like stern usually does.

I looked closely at a couple of them at TPF and observed no pooling. The playfields looked great.

Are you talking about mass appeal? The masses love McDonalds and skinny jeans. They have bad taste.

Anyway, I observed plenty of people playing Godfather at TPF. The lines were nothing like Pulp Fiction, but they only brought 4 of those. Overall reactions to GF were positive. The bad guy call outs not so much. Great layout. The price is an issue for many.

Such a solid point. I never mind being part of the minority.

proportionally speaking SD & PF were easily a 45 - hour line. GF lines weren't nowhere as bad so I got to play it a lot more than the others. Foo Fighters wasn't bad but they had 20 there. Lines were still crazy during the TWIPY Awards still couldn't get on SD or PF but no real lines w/ GF.

But ya I'm more of a baggy jeans guy; I like having room for my balls to breath & the new bk stacker sandwich is fire!!

GF price unfortunately are way way beyond my financial capabilities.

Mafia is one of those topics that might resonate more or less depending on what part of the country you are from and what history exists there. If there was a convention held in NYC, I doubt the lines for GF would be short.

PS. Any time I order a burger it looks nothing like that... lol acedanger hello from down the street

Reassuring to see feedback on Godfather in post-TPF podcasts and videos has been generally VERY positive!

So looking forward to exploring the code and enjoying its gameplay in the comfort of my humble home gameroom!

#122 1 year ago

I played Godfather LE around 10 times the last couple of days, and loved it. Prefer it over FF, Bond, etc. There are some CEs still out there for msrp plus shipping. Did they sell out, or is JJP releasing CEs incrementally to keep demand high? It is a stunning game, really fun in person. The complaints about call outs, godfather themed pinball, music, lack of mechs, etc just didn’t resonate at all in person.

#123 1 year ago

From JJP's point of view, they allocated all 1,000 of the pre-orders (some went to dealers). From what I understand they are making 1,000 LEs, then making all 1,000 CEs and then making the rest of the LEs. The change to CEs in the line may have already happened or is going to shortly.

Indeed, If I’m not mistaken it was the same MO with GNR.
2-3 months after the release I started to see Collector’s arriving to Canada(I got mine 4 months after the release), so I’ll guess that all of you lucky fellas from the US will be playing with your CE in about 1 month.

Interesting how people declare they're 'in' when only a theme is announced.
I wonder what would change their mind when they get eyes on the game? A spinning horse head toy? Music by Scott Denesi - the Godfather remix?

Poop on you!!

Although there seems to be mixed appreciation for Godfather's theme and audio, all seem to agree that both LE and CE versions are BEAUTIFUL!

And I know that it may just be CE bling to some, but DAMN...

You really do have to admit that this CE is one of a kind visually. It pretty much knocked me off my seat when I first saw it. The mostly positive reviews are completing the overall appeal. Although I have not yet seen it in person, pretty much everyone says that it looks better in person (really looking forward to seeing mine in person)

I was initially worried the leg covers might be cheap plastic but I think they turned out to actually be made of metal. The attention to detail ithey put into this game is quite impressive. I have never been so excited to be this irresponsible lol!

Does it have the jjp casino sounds? That killed gnr for me completely.

Quoted from Tranquilize:

General consensus from those that have reported hearing the game in person, seems to be that although David Thiel's talents are still greatly missed, the overall sound package is fine as is.

That tells me based on what i am hearing they had more Godfathers on display than other pinballs. Not sure if that is true but thats whay i heard.

Quoted from Tranquilize:

Based on IEPinball Stream, Karl said no....

#133 1 year ago

The sound was really good in person, in a room with no other machines playing. Didn’t sound like a casino to me, but then I like GnR, although I made a point to listen for those sounds. In fact, I liked GF so much that I cancelled FF (that I also played) and grabbed a CE at the final hour. These are sold out everywhere I looked except for one distributor. As more people play this game, it will gain momentum. From the reveal, I didn’t think it looked fun and turned down a couple of CEs. Different in person, fast fun game.

I placed my order within 7 minutes of its official introduction of availability. Hope to see it by June.

It could have been $5 grand more, didn't matter - I am owning it.

Being a die-hard fan of the movies (well, parts 1 and 2 anyway), it had to happen. I'm elated and it will be my most treasured pinball machine. I even have a life size Al Capone fiberglass figure sitting patiently for its place next to the machine.

When I called JJP (early March) she said I could expect my CE in May/June timeframe. She said 1000 LE, then CE's start, then the rest of the LE. They should be building CEs now or real soon. It could have changed since then so FWIW.

Fun fact , The Godfather topper has more than twice as many individually controllable RGB's as Godzilla has in the whole game

So excited to have made the list. Haven’t seen one or played one yet but mine is showing up in Two weeks….Not sure I want to put it in the Alley with the other pins. It’s a such a unique machine it feels like it needs a spot all of its own…Would love to see pics when all your CE’s get home!

Can someone confirm or Does anyone know if JJP used the Awesome guitar rif in the JJP video on the audio tracks for the CE??

Left pin side about 4-5 years ago as the influence to buy more machines and the Fomo was overwhelming….first couple weeks back and end up buying 6 machines….This hobby is brutal I should have stuck with board games.
