So early adopters got a $1000 discount. Pinside rages, sounds about right.

    Quoted from Zablon:

DO they get big discounts? One of the jokes we used to make in my factory days was that we were building things we couldn't afford to buy.

I never understood this logic, what does working in a factory have to do with being able to buy the product. Is everyone that works at Boeing supposed to be able to buy their own jet? Also is everyone working in a sweat shop supposed to be happy because they can afford a T-shirt?

    Quoted from wesman:

Not a crazy idea/incentive for an employee to think they can afford that which they make, and ideally take pride in making. Product accessibility also has to help employees feel valued.
The auto industry clearly utilizes this for more sales and brand loyalty. I'd have to imagine 40 years or so ago, that the discount was even more substantial.

I don't even need to click that link to know it would go to the pure marketing of employee pricing for domestic automobiles. You too can buy a Ford for the same price as an employee, that's because the employee discount is just BS they used to fool the unions into thinking they are getting something.

    Quoted from Lamberger:

been moderated.. Looks like pinside is leaning towards Facebook and twitter... free speech is dead, at no time did I mention politics or religion. Cancel culture full effect..Good luck America! PM me if you want to see the post, cheers to the good people!

Can you please moderate this embarrassment of a post. If it was meant to be sarcastic and funny it failed. Dude you went full Karen, pathetic.

    #1349 3 years ago
    Quoted from Lamberger:

I must be white, right! wrong!!

What are you on about. First if your Canadian you should know we don’t even have Freedom of Speech. We have freedom of expression and it sure as fuck does not apply to talking shit online. Ranting ignorance and nonsense is not helping.

    Quoted from Lamberger:

Ok, your the embarrassment... Don't you have some sort of ... Never mind, stay in your Moms basement.

See how it works is this is someone else property. Your ranting that you have the right to do and say whatever you like with someone else’s properly and you don’t. They have the right to say these are the rules follow them or go piss off someplace else. They have a rule that you shouldn’t announce when you eject idiots into the abyss of ignore. I’m going to follow the rules.

I worked in a factory back in the day... oh wait no one gives a fuck.

    Quoted from Tranquilize:

Um... Actually, if you have something constructive to add about labour in the pinball market, we actually would give a fuck. I'm sure no one gives a fuck with your shitty attitude though.

If you read the room you would see most people are ready to move on. I was pretty over the top with the smarmy sarcasm and you still missed the point.

    #1430 3 years ago
    Quoted from Tranquilize:

We've heard your shit about "working in the video game industry" a bazillion times and really could use a break. But you know what? We tolerate it because we're not dicks. Be a dick. I don't care. I didn't miss anything.

I actually did work in a factory back in the day and plenty of other shit jobs. I didn't say a damn thing about my what I do for a living. Dude if I trigger you so bad that your getting upset about things you imagine I might say you need to put me on ignore. That is an unhealthy obsession. I had another guy complain I was trolling a thread I hadn't posted in for 3 years, seriously 3 years since my last post. You guys are mental.

    #1432 3 years ago
    Quoted from Trogdor:

U had a factory job? So then your statement wasn’t sarcastic? Or the “oh wait nobody gives a ..” part is sarcastic? But then everybody is really fascinated by factory jobs?? This is so confusing, I’m going a little mental.. Triggering!! And smarmy? Great word- not used correctly.
And Wesman got ejected for a post with no foul language or threats? This is strange. I mean we were all tired of the valid socialist points, but we aren’t working for Lucasfilms here. If people are ejected for being off topic, crickets in here.
Bottom line- hells yes!! for $1000 more. You snooze, you lose! Pollocks art sold for thousands $, now tens of millions. Pins are not toys anymore- they are works of art. Keep them NIB!

I stand by smarmy. I was being smarmy pretending I wanted to share my thoughts or feelings about being a factory worker. It's close but I think its fair usage. I'm just kidding around I can conceded I may not have used it right.
