I have a Data East GNR, and I LOVE the band, but... I have a bad feeling about this JJP machine

Quoted from Pinballomatic:and that would be because ... ?
Quoted from Skyemont:You mean blowing the Data East version away?
I'm worried about a couple of things:
- About how they are going to manage the representation of the band members and the general aesthetics of the pin:
The actual Axl Rose or the skinny young Axl? What about Melissa Reese, Frank Ferrer, etc... they are great musicians but for me is not the essence of GnR. Will they be represented in the game? How? The band members will be showed as cartoons to disguise the passage of years? Or realistic images of these days? (not very exciting for me..)
- What about the music? Old classics with some songs from the Chinese Democracy? Not very impressive.
It's rumored that they are writing a new album, the first one after the reunion of Axl with Slash and Duff. Why they dont wait until the album is done, and release the pin including new songs when the next album comes out? That would have more sense to me, as a promotion movement to help the sales of the pin, and the new album.
I think they will have to work very hard to make a solid and attractive pin, without breaking the legacy of the band. Just my thoughts...
So many good comments about how cool could be this new pin, but the 'No' is winning in the poll.
It's just that people who voted 'No' don't write here their arguments?
Quoted from Rockytop:I don't think you know Slash. I think you're trolling the thread to get a reaction.
Thats right, "don't feed the trolls"...
Quoted from wolfemaaan:Yup. I like GNR the band, some years better than others, but not a die hard GNR fan like my roommate. But this game could have been White Snake and it would still be great regardless.
With that said, GNR is a close to being in a 3-way tie for best Pin IMO. I played a broken one at Pinball Museum and it went way down on my list actually. I didn’t really know until I tore it down, rebuilt it to 100%, then played many games. It has very high replay value and might be Borgs best game (as long as you have a Pinsound to change out some of the tracks of course). So when I hear people complain about this game, they just didn’t really play it or a working one
It plays like a Cadillac, much more solid that any Widebody from that era. Lots of different even balanced goals, etc, really having little to do with Guns. Actually one of the fun goals is Snake Pit which Slash snuck into the game. Seems blasphemous on a GNR Pin. It’s like playing a KISS pin with the other 2 fake guys pretending to be Peter & Ace
The Upper loop shot consistency is tough, it has 2 smooth flowing ramps, tight loop shots, and tough but not impossible Riot 6 ball. All around fun balanced game
Bottom line, when guest come over, it’s the game they first want to play cuz it’s GNR, but in the end they continue to play it because I doesn’t require a five hour rule book lesson. That’s what my IJPBA is for
Agree, just my thoughts too
